Hi Eliza,
Welcome to our group. This is a wonderful group of people. They have so much information that is helpful on our journeys. The encouragement is amazing.
I had many health problems before my WLS. Now things are greatly improving. I know it's hard to wait, but it is so worth it. You are doing well to work with the nutritionist (NUT) now. You are doing good things for yourself. That is great. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Amalia (((HUGS))). Good to hear from you. I am so sorry your MS symptoms are back and so aggressively. You were doing so well with the remission for so long. I wish I could cure it for you.

PLEASE do not consider yourself a failure. Look at those tickers! You have done excellent. AND need I remind you that you blew away what the docotr thought you could accomplish???? WLS usually only helps get rid og 60 to 70% of excess weight, the rest is on us. You DO have some challenges that make it difficult to get in vigorous exercise ya know..

I understand your desire to continue to lose. BUT don't give up hope yet! It took me 2 full years to get to my goal weight. (Thats 8 months longer than you have had your surgery done for). You will lose slowly now, but don't give up. It is still very possible to lose. If you give up, you will eventually regain, and I know you do not want that!

You also have to remember that the meds they treat you with can contribute to weight, so you cannot fairly call yourself a failure anyhow. You have incredible odds against you lady, but look how far you have come. NOW... don't make me come to Greece and give you a good ole fashinioned butt whoopin! LOL. Seriously, I can understand your frustration, but stay with it. Even if you maintain at this point it is far better than regaining.

Lots of hugs, Love and support coming your way.

Good for you girl! Heck look at me...I am a support group leader, and I still manage to get off track too! What it comes down to is that not a one of us is perfect, and this is a constant evolution for us. We just have to get and stay back on track. Sometimes, this requires the help of others encouraging us and doing it along with us.
So start planning your plan for tomorrow! Then check in. You can do it!

Great news, Arianne!  I'm so glad things are progressing well for you.  The diarrhea could have been from an infection so I'm glad you got to the doc and are improving.  God bless!
I hope you dance with enthusiasm... and a million other things joyful!

Hi, Eliza,  I rec'd good news on Friday... the surgeon accepted me.  So now begins the process.  I have been going to my PCP every 6 months for blood checks as I have diabetes, high blood pressure, and GERD.  They do a full work up, minus vitamin checks, so I have been aware of what my issues are.  My latest blood work showed that I'm borderline anemic so I've been trying to eat foods that are higher in iron content.  My BMI is 52 so I know my co-morbidities are bad enough.  I was awarded disability in March and that has given me the boost I needed, insurance-wise, to get this process going and to get my overall health in order.  I thank God for that!

Keep me posted... I'd like to share in your progress if you don't mind sharing.
I hope you dance with enthusiasm... and a million other things joyful!

Hi Patrece!

It's been awhile since I posted, but I've not forgotten you. As you know, I'm 1 year and 4 months out now and I'm really struggling... I've only lost a couple of kg in the past 4 months and it doesn't look as if I'll be making it to my goal by my vacation in August. I've been doing real good on my diet, better even than last year, but it just isn't working any more. :(
All my MS symptoms are back with a vengeance and frankly, I don't want to be unpleasant to newbies who have come with high hopes. Perhaps if I could increase my exercise it would help, but I can't, things are getting worse each day heath-wise. I'm now trying an Atkins-type diet, concentrating mostly on protein and hoping. This is my LAST effort. If I fail at this too, I'll probably give up.

I appreciate this thread and any help you can provide.

Amalia

well for me it is confession time ..... I used to be hard core and workout everyday..... Im not now and I need to again.... I am slacking on getting all my water in and I need to cut down on carbs and get back to basics... I tend to be one way or another either hard core or a slacker... I still need to find my happy medium , I am very thankful I have not gained any weight and still under my goal wieght but the truth is I need to get back on track... Thank you for posting this.... it is what I needed.
So I am going to also take my own advice LOL and take it one meal and one day at a time.

Hugs, Lisa

Well I survived the ED in record time.  Doctor thought it was more of an allergic reaction to the skin glue than an infection.  But he still started me on Keflex for seven days, and after the first two doses I am already seeing improvement in the puncture site.  I have way more energy today and that is awesome!

Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday!
