Topic: Spicy Foods
Hi all,
I love spicy food and am wondering if post RNY, the pouch can tolerate spice if you could pre-surgery.  This has not been mentioned in any of the literature I have seen.  I can avoid sugar but hot peppers may be a tough thing to give up!
Thanks!
Kathy

Topic: Last Suppers?
Hi all,
I am two weeks away from RNY and have been preparing by getting liquid vitamins, protein drink / powder and generally trying to eat right and get my butt out there to exercise.  But a small problem...this weekend I started feeling like I should this, that, and some of that as I may never be able to eat it again, if not for a long time.  I do not want to do this and yet...cannot keep away from the rhubarb pie and fish and chips (summer launch foods).  Anyone experience this and how did deal with it? I know what I should be doing but just not doing it the past few days and do not want to get on the gain track before surgery.
Thanks!!
Kathy

Topic: Had a great week
My weight loss lately has been slow , but last week I lost 5.5 lbs. It was so nice. It really motivated me. It's hard to believe the unbelievable changes in my body.

I literally have nothing that fits me anymore. I have one pair of jeans that is the right size and 2 capri pants. I just went to one of the consignment shops to buy about 5 shirts, only I bought them smaller cause I figure In couple of weeks they will fit right. I bought 2 size 12 shorts, they fit just a tiny tad snug but really 6 lbs and they will fit perfect. About the shorts, I am actually wearing shorts, haven't wore any in about 4 years. Yay!! My legs are not so white anymore have a bit of a tan now :) I really need to go on a shopping spree soon.

When I see my reflection in  a window as I go into a building I can't believe its mine. It's such a good feeling. On the down side. This hair loss really sucks. Thank goodness I was blessed with a full head of thick hair so its not as noticeable to other people but me. But I hate when I brush or wash my hair and so much of falls of. My hair is not as shiny as it used to be, hate that, b/c I may have been  heavy in the past but my hair was always my best feature and I have always been complimented on it.

I took a hoola hoop class at the YMCA. I absolutely loved it. I even ordered a hoola hoop so that I can do this at home as the class is only once a week. Its not  a hoola hoop like you buy at the store, these are a bit heavier so they actually stay up as you hoola. I would really recommend this type of exercise it is not strenuous but you get results.

Well have to get ready for work tomorrow. I want to say Welcome to all the new comers. If you are on here its because you have decided to start a healthier life style. Good for you!! and good luck. This site was a life saver for my in the beginning and it still is.

Fran,

So good to hear from you!  When I come on I always look to see if any of the people I started this journey have posted. Not many do anymore. So many new faces and people. I wish them all well and luck.

Glad to hear  you are losing again. It's so important to stay motivated. I know I am constantly pushing myself. My motivators are my inlaws have not seen me yet since last summer and I will see some of them on a camping trip on the 4th of July. I have 8 lbs to lose for my goal weight for that week end. Then hopefully another 10 lbs for a wedding  4 weeks after that in Aug. I will have to come up with another motivator for after that.

Sorry to hear about your other issues. Hope all turns out ok.

Sam

Hi Patrece and all BBs,

Ellen and I had a rough night. She became ill with temp, chills, and said it hurt terribly when she coughed. I stayed up with her until the birds were singing this AM. Keep giving here hot tea to warm her. Today she has had toast also. Now she said she has a horrid headache. Our kitty, Bela, has not left her side except to eat. Then right back to her side. Animals just seem to know when somethings not right,

Today has been a total bust. I've had 2 glasses of water and morning pills. Then ate some peanuts because they were handy. Of course, neither Ellen and I have one bit of energy. Eating is the last thing on my mind. Going to try a 1 hour nap and then a protein shake after more water. I'll see how much I can accomplish tonight. (It's going on 4 o'clock here in AZ.         Hugs to all,       Mag

PS--- I lost 2 pounds this week. I'm happy with that.

Amalia,
My sister and I must be part Greek. We like to eat dinner around 8 to 9PM. So people find that strange. lol. Sorry about the movie seating. It is difficult at times I know. Will say a prayer for you concerning MS.   As always,    Mag
