HI Mandee,
Welcome to the group. You will fall in love with the people on this site. Info, support, and encouragement for all. I'm RNY and won't change a thing. I'm almost 6 months out and my life is already so much better.    Keep posting.   Looking forward to getting to know you.   Mag

Thanks for the welcomes.  I've heard good things about the VSG.  I actually was going to have the Lap Band until I started reading horror stories from people who've had major complications and revision surgery.  I was scared about the rearranging that comes with the RNY, but in the end I think I made the right choice.  Good luck with whatever you choose.  I know you'll do great!

Hi my name is Chris. Welcome to BB, you joined a very supportive group. This group has helped me learn more about Gastric Bypass and their thoughts on VSG. I'm personally leaning towards VSG but either one I'll be happy with. I hope you have a speedy recovery after Tuesday Surgery. Good luck with everything.

Awww honey, I know how terribly frustrating and miserable it is when you are so exhausted. There must be something going on to cause it, and I hope the blood test reveals an easy answer that has a fairly easy fix. If your tyroid level is low, that could be doing it too. Or if you are depressed, depression can be quite exhausting as well. Have you been checked for sleep apnea? Whatever it is, rest, and i hope the answer is revealed soon.
Try to get those meds in. Not taking them can possibly add to your fatigue. Even when things aren't going well, come and post. I am not going to be mean or nasty about it! I am here to help encourage and support you, not to judge or berate you! We all have our times of struggle. Sometimes far too much to struggle with.
Know my heart is with you and I wish you quick relief from this exhaustion.
Hugs back at ya lady!

Hi Jennifer!  We have the same surgeon!  I completely understand everything you are feeling.  I am actually have surgery on Tuesday, but it was a long time coming.  After years of contemplating it and trying every diet out there (as I am sure everyone here has done) and then fighting with myself over whether to go with the RNY or Lap Band, and then all the hoops you've mentioned, its been insane.  If anything, it does give lots of time to know for sure if this is what we really want.

Here's a little light at the end of the tunnel for you.  After you are cleared for surgery from the nutritionist its truly a sprint.  I was cleared by Glenda (btw I pray you get her, she is SO nice), two weeks later had my consultation with Dr. O'Malley and was given a surgery date that was less than 2 weeks away from that day.

I attended my initial seminar at the end of September, so that's 9 months from start to finish.  Looking back it flew by, although at the time, I felt as frustrated as you are.  And also keep in mind that I had to reschedule a couple nutrition appointments due to some of those freakish snow storms we had this year, so you will probably fly through even faster.

I am excited for you, hang it there, and you will do great!

I just joined the group a few days ago and just wanted to take a sec to say hi.  I'm going in for my RNY at Highland Hospital in Rochester on Tuesday.  This site is awesome and I've learned so much.  I am kind of far from the local support group here, but love that I can meet people here who either have or are going through the same stuff I am.  I look forward to getting to know you all!

Sounds like some yummy eats! I too must keep reminding myself to get in the water. It is a little easier now that it is hot outside and I get thirstier more often. I also have not been wanting to eat much, but due to my stomach pain, as the food makes it worsen. BUT I am eating a little at each meal time.

How nice you got to get new patio furniture and enjoy it! We have a nice breeze today too, and not much humidity here at all, but wow is it hot outside.
Have a wonderful weekend!
