Hi again. I went back to my favorite videos and i did save the one that explains the program and form that is needed. you really should watch this video, great information and he even posts the link to the form.
i went to the site before i went to youtube and there is nothing about it on there site. here is the video you need to watch go to username mykindsize and choose his video free vitamins for bariatric patients.

please let me know if this helps. i know it did me financially. i'm actually thinking of having a revision of my surgery because i'm having issues with regain and maybe having stretched my pouch so if i get the surgery i will have to start the vitamins too.

good luck

Hi i had my gastric bypass in 2009. i'm a big part of the weight loss community on youtube. after my surgery i saw a video that someone made that bariatric advantage has a program that if you get your surgeon to fill out a form for them about you, you get free 3 month supply vitamins. i did this and it worked. i got them free. it was hard finding the form on the site, i think they make it that way lol. that was almost 3 years ago so i don't know if they still have it. try looking and i'll try looking right now too. i'll let you know if i find anything, and let me know if you do. :)

Topic: RE: liquid protein diet
Hang in there... Don't give up...  I had the same challenges that you mentioned and once I had the surgery all struggles ended one week after.  It is not easy but always think of the bright side; after the surgery, and all the goals you have set for yourself and achieving them one at a time to reach your ultimate goal.

With regards to the cheating with the food and struggles...You need to really dig deep and think what is bringing the craving...It is a habit issue...it could be that you have been used to eating while watching TV, as a habit, and maybe you are not hungry.....You need to then find something to do to replace that habit...take a walk, go to you public library, spend time with people who will not focus on food as their priority....It has worked for me, so it is not 100% proof, but bringing positive thoughts and the way i might look in the future after it is all done....it has succeded 99.9% of the time.

You have some pretty awsome goals mentioned and there are a couple of days left...so hang in there and make your self proud and make all of us proud.

Topic: liquid protein diet
i am doing the ten day liquid protein diet right now and struggling.  i am constantly hungry even with the vegetables that i am allowed to had.  i do work around food so that is hard.  i haven't cheated at work but i have cheated at home two times.  i finally threw away all the stuff that was in my fridge that i'm not allowed to have.  i thought i had an ok relationship with food but now realize that my worst time is in the evening when i am watching tv.  i tended to watch tv and snack in the evening.  what to do with myself during that time is the hardest part of the day.  i am intentionally going away this weekend to a friend's house who is also on a strict diet (different than mine) so that i can just get through the next three days.  i have to be on the protein diet until tuesday, may 29 and then do a clensing with clear liquids on may 30 then my surgery is planned for may 31.  i'm just afraid that i have not made enough of the lifestyle changes during the past year or so.  how would i know if i am making the right decision for myself?  i have so much riding on this and the hopes and dreams of my family as well.  i feel like if i change my mind i will be not only letting myself down as well as my family's.  i want to be active with my dad and go hiking, camping and biking with him which i cannot do right now.  i have a gym membership pending but can't seem to get myself to go and actually sign up.  they are holding everything at the front desk waiting for me to sign up.  maybe i'm just getting cold feet cause it's so close to the surgery date.  i also want to run a 5k with my friend.  she ran her first one a few weeks ago and i promised i would run with her sometime.  i do have goals but are they enough?

Congrats and I can personally say that you found the right site. I may not ask lots of questions but when I do a search someone else has already asked as well as answered.
Good luck on your journey.

Hi My Name is Khaled Tamraz...I am new to this website but decided to join right after my surgery for the support.  I had my surgery on May 6th and at first i though it would be a breeze and not need any support but after the second day i had so many questions that i didn't have answers for and found what i was missing on this website.  I started at around 349lbs. and would like to be around the 190 lbs. range...currently at 313...from the looks of it, it is not going to be easy...but will do my best to survive and enjoy the rest of my life with my 5 kids and beautiful wife.

I am looking for the help i can get from all as i am basically the newbie here.

Thanx

I am finally getting used to being this skinny so trying to maintain the weight wouldnt mind gaining ten pounds but I am ok where I am. I am in search of a new doctor this one I have now does not tend to the gastric bypass issues and has been written up by a few other doctors for this. Just dont like the stomach pain. As far as the eating well most is my own fault need to slow down when will I learn lol but I am eating more different foods now so yeah!!!!!! Thank you all for every thing

Topic: Frustrated
So I had my appointment with the nutritionist today, at Portsmouth Naval. Very disappointing. She wouldn't clear me. Told me I hadn't made enough lifestyle changes and to come back in a month (mind you, I spent 6 months with a dietician last year, under my doc's care). The appointment itself was very tense. I had the feeling she wasn't a fan of bariatric surgery at all. I realize you have to be realistic on the difficulty of things, but I thought the environment would be supportive. As of now they are scheduling surgery for August, now this will set things back at least until September at the minimum. Not sure how this benefits me at all. Totally frustrated.

Topic: The last 20 pounds..... OMG!
Still........ trying........
These last 20 pounds are killer.
I feel like I'm NEVER going to loose it.

I had lap band in July of 2010. I weighed almost 280 at my heaviest and now am down to 205. My goal is 185, and these last 20 have been really hard to get rid of.
I've been at 205 for about a year now - fluctuating between 198 and 210.
I have increased my weight training and cardio. I became a Zumba instructor, and now that the weather is nicer I'm getting out to play tennis again and walking the dogs everyday that it's nice. We do live in Illinois, so the weather can change at the drop of a hat. LOL

It does seem like the more cardio I'm doing and the more days I weight train, the hungrier I am. i try to tell my brain that I'm just thirsty, but then I start to dry heave until I put something in my stomach.

My bariatric surgeon closed his practice. There are no more support groups.
My band is filled btween 7-8 cc. I drink plenty of water, stay away from most sugary carbs.
I consume anyhwere from 800-1200 calories a day, which I think is a bit too much - but I'm hungry. I don't think I should be this hungry with 7-8 cc's in my band.

I guess this warrants a trip to my regular doctor first to see if there isn't a medical reason for this weight not coming off - anyone else have any ideas.  Thanks much.
