Topic: Have been MIA for a long time
Soooo i know theres some people who might miss me... lol... i just wanted to post an update. i havent been on here in a while actually months since i updated my weight. i would like to give a positive update but i am still trying to get my mindset changed in a mental aspect. the word is in front of me and i just need to see it!! anyways i am almost 4 months out and have lost over 70 lbs since my 2 week prior to surgery appointment. i started at 259 a year ago and am down to 221. its freaking amazing. i just started a workout routine at an actual gym and pushed myself today and found that it made me feel awesome but lightheaded lol. so i had a piece of candy  yeah a gym that has a bowl of candy... what has this world come to lol. soooo i went back to school after having the quarter off. its tough stuff this time and im having issues with my goiter that i never had taken care of, my cpap which is the wrong setting and my thyroid meds and still trying to get my psych meds balanced out. but i try to get my protein in, get all my water and meals in, but theres always something to work on and something that needs changed or balanced. BUT i dont recognize myself. its really strange. but i love this new person that i am, when i am positive. i am going to make one more post. please look at it

Topic: RE: Life is Good!!
I haven't been on this site in months, and yours was the first post I read, and I have to say I'm SO glad I did!  I'm also a little over 6 months post-op, and right around the same place you are.  I haven't lost as much as some people, but I feel SO good!  Mostly, what stands out to me is that I feel very "normal".  I go out to eat with friends and eat a small but not atypical portion (I used to eat 2-3 peoples' worth of food).  I eat a meal and get hungry again at a normal interval (as opposed to being hungry all the time).  I still enjoy food, and I haven't had negative reactions to anything I've tried, but my life no longer revolves around food.  Meanwhile, I walk more places, cross my legs, wear a bathing suit in public, and look pretty cute in my summer clothes (which I have bought in the regular size section of typical stores - NOT Lane Bryant or Plus size sections).  I'm down from a size 24 to a size 14, 100 lbs total as of today.  What really hit me was when my doctor told me that the average American woman wears a size 14.  Hey, that's me - AVERAGE sized!  I'm still looking to lose 20-40 more lbs, but I'm pretty happy right now too!
Starting Weight: 277.5, Pre-op Weight: 259.3, Current Weight: 176.8

Topic: Ugh!
I'm soooo frustrated with the waiting.  I have not been doign well with keeping track of my food, which is something I know they'll be looking for at my follow up dietician appointment at the bariatric center.  And I'm totaly sick of all the doctors appointments and tests.  Tomorrow I have to go to the cardiologist and have a nuclear exercise stress test and then an echocardiogram.  Ugh!  So sick of the poking and proddding!  I feel like I'm NEVER going to be where the rest of you are - on the losing side.  Why do they put us through this torture?  Is it to weed out the weak?  To get rid of those destined to be failures?  Feeling very discouraged.

I planned to be there too, but has local wls group tonight and it was my turn to lead the group.  I share group leadership with Liz.  It is great to share the leadership with a friend.

We had a small turn out, but great support shared at local wls group.  Let's try to get to bb chat again next week.  Hugs
