I really would like to be here tonight, but Dr Stefan Pettine is the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Rocky Mountain Surgical Associates Bariactrics, or whatever it is called.

But it is a FREE monthly support group. And it is important for me to show up, participate in my recovery from this dibilitating dis-ease. Anyone and Everyone is welcome, pre op, post op, family friends, anyone.

Is this a weekly chat? What is the schedule?

I am new to the group here and do want to participate here as well :)

In the solution,
Di

Dear Gretchen and others. I had a sleeve done in April this year and to date have not lost one pound, in fact two weeks ago, I was 4 pounds heavier than what i was surgery day.

These are the things I have done to try and correct this. Weighing and measuring my food every day. Doing some exercise when I can. I have been under a lot of stress with my mom. She is dying from Pulmonary Fibrosis. We just planned her funeral last week. I am not sure if it is stress or what. I am blaming myself, not my physician. He is great.
Due to the stress, I was eating a lot of sweets. I previously had a lap band and that stopped working for me.

I am open to any and all suggestions of how to get this weight off. I am listening to hypnosis tapes, going to a counselor, seeing a nutritionist and I even joined OA. I appreciate your time reading this. Thank you.

WELCOME TO THE LOSERS BENCH

I'm so happy for you. Glad recovery is going well. Walking and sipping are 2 of the best things you can do for yourself right now. Congrats on arriving at this part of the journey.   Mag

Topic: RNY Complete!

HI all,
Great news, I had the RNY this past Friday and am out of the hospital trying to sip and walk.  I was nervous up until day before thinking the insurance would pull me back again at the last minute but all was fine.
All went well with surgery - just under 2 hours - and I feel great, much better than I thought I would! Now to get rid of that pesky gas and make sure I drink enough/often enough.  I am thrilled it is done, now i was thinking why didn't I do it before!? I think i was not ready then....so keep up the journey and progress all, don't give up!

Welcome to the family Deanna.  Congrats, getting surgery done is the first part.  How are things going?  Following the plan set out by your surgical team?

Weekends can be quieter around here.  I work night shift and get online when I can.  Try to join the chat sessions monday evenings when you can.  The conversation varies, depending on members present.  Shortcut is posted earlier on mondays.  Hugs

Welcome to the family Gretchen.  Looking forward to reading your chat.  Congrats on surgery, welcome to the losing side of things.  How are you doing?

I had RNY nearly 2 years ago, loving the new me.  Sharing with others helps me with my goals.

The tiredness will pass in just a bit, your body is getting used to the new eating plan.  Take naps when you need to and sip, sip, sip some more.
