It sounds like you have a lot going on!  I haven't been losing any weight in pounds lately myself either, but the inches are going so I am glad too.  Agree with you completely, there are so many things we can do now that wouldn't havae been possible before.  Keep up the good work!

Let me welcome you to the losers bench Deb.  Cograts on making a healthy choice for health.  Did you have a gastric stapling or gastric bypass?

We all had those learning moments early out from surgery.  Just remember to chew, chew and chew some more.  Take this time to relearn eating in a healthy way.  Looking forward to following your progress.  Hugs

Topic: 17 days after my gastric bypass
Hi everyone. I am 17 days status post gastric stapling. Started a pre diet several weeks before surgery . Have lost 27 lbs already.(a bra size and a shoe size, go figure) Feeling much better now. I am so excited .I wish all the luck to those out there going through the same. I will answer any questions i can. Right now i am still in the learning process with the diet and vitamens. the only problem I had was yesterday I accidently ate a piece of chicken I was preparing for my family(old habits) I paid for it, nausea and vomiting for about 30 minutes, won't do that again.

Topic: RE: Nearly three weeks out & can't keep protien down???
I just tried muscle milk for the first time (bc I was traveling and thats what I could get from the convient store) and it wast bad at all.  It is lactose free.  I ended up mixing mine with milk to make it taste better and served it verrrry COLD.

I agree wtih the post about soft proteins like cottage cheese and greek yogurt.  Both are slider foods, so you wouldnt be able to do them forever.   So talk with your surgeon as well.

Hope things get better for you.

Kathy.  Congrats on your weight loss so far.  The time sure flies by.  Seems that I just had my surgery yesterday.

You are definitely right about life moving on.  Seems that there is not enough time in the day to do all that I want to do.  I have not been on here much, but I do think about you guys often.  Once summer is up, my traveling will slow down and I will have a little extra free time.  I tend to use the summer to see my family.  Then the winter, I use the weather here in philadlephia as an excuse not to have to travel so much.

Congratulations for 2 years since the beginning of your new life.  I remember when you were about to have surgery and you were administering your last dose of insulin .. I am soo proud of you !!

I realize now that it is almost one year out from my surgery and I have lost a total of 115 pounds since the day that I had surgery.  I went in that morning and weighed 265 .. and now I weigh 150 over her on the loser's bench ..

I haven't been on line much these last few months but I have taken the time to check in to see how everyone is doing every so often and I just want to express how proud I am of all of our members as to how they are doing in their decisions with regards to having this surgery.  Some of us it was an easy decision to do it .. others not so easy, and we have helped each other in what ever way we could to get where we are today.  Look at the pounds we have all lost and the goals that we have met and exceeded at.  I think we should all give ourselves a HUMUNGOUS hug for all the hard work that we have done so far and encourage you to all do the best we can to become the thin people hidden inside of ourselves ..

Be blessed,

Jenn
