Well depends on your job... for an office position some people go back very quick.  I had a lot of lifting in my job and was told to take 6 weeks.. and then 1 week light duty at work .. you will have to ask surgeon and tell him/her your job.

Yes I have seen him. I am doing the by pass. Down to 325 today.

I am really not very impressed with this prossess to be honest.  I really feel as if I am having a bunch of time wasted and being made to feel like a complete idiot.

My group seems to see a lot of people that are in denile or are just really dumb so they seem to just group everyone into the same group and treat us all the same.

I wont risk telling them this till after the Surgey as I dont want any issue but after its all said and done they will be getting an earfull.

I will be more then happy to keep you posted about my trip but I dont really know how well your going to be able to relate to me.

I hope yours turn out better then mine and G/L.

I have not had my sleeve done yet but most literature says 1-2 weeks. When i submitted my FMLA paperwork they wrote 4-6 weeks. Since you have a busy job you should give yourself the 6 weeks. and if you feel good enough to go back then you can get a return to work letter from your surgeon.

Hey Everyone,
Just curious for how long I will be out of work postop (VSG)?  I'm an RN on a busy floor and I have no idea how long I am expecting to be out.........how long were you all post oppers out of work before you could return?

Well today I went for my first post op appt. and it went great. I am 282 lbs my BMI was 41. I have lost a total of 27.4 lbs since pre-op and 19% of my body fat. My doctor was proud of me and told me it was ok for me move to soft foods if I felt comfortable. I tried a small piece of baked salmon and was extremly uncomfortable. So I will try again tomorrow. Still no dumping and my energy level is great. Vitimans and protein going great. This was the best thing I ever done in my life besides my kids and my husband. What makes me feel even better is when people that were skeptical about the procedure see me and are shocked at how well I am doing. My support time has been awesome and I owe them so much. My husband and I have planned to renew our vows next April at Daytona Beach and I can't wait to see the new me on our wedding day.
