I drink the Syntrax Nectars. I mix mine with FF milk.
I never had a lap band but just wanted to say hello and welcome. Mag
I'm sorry it has been so long since I posted. I've become addicted to FB games. Trying to wean myself down. In the end it not uplifting or important. Being here is much more important to my health and well being. I have spent time on the over 50 forum. We older ladies have to stick together, Hope to be checking in here often. I do miss all the friends I have made through OH and BB.
Hugs, Mag
I have used artificial sweetner for several years as I have (had now after surgery) diabetes. I never used Sweet & Low because it's saccarin (sp?). I prefer Splenda, Truvia, or Stevia. Purvia is ok but I found I had an aftertaste with it that I didn't like. I never associated earlier hunger with use of a sweetner so I can't say I experienced what you are. I just know that I felt fuller with greater portions of protein and ensuring that any starches I ate are from whole grains/non-white starch. As long as I did that, I didn't have a problem between meals.
Of course, now, post-op, I am focusing on protein and fluid. That will evolve over time but not too much... protein will always be first after fluids and vitamins.
Good journey to you,
Diana
Thanks Diana, you gave me aot to consider!!

Hi Guys and Gals!
I'm new to OH. Has anyone had experience going from the lapband to GB? In March 2009, I had lapband surgery. I lost 20 lbs pre op and 10 lbs in the month after surgery. And that was it. I had adjustments, I followed the diet, nothing. It was so frustrating. So I thought that was it. I'd lost 30 lbs, was in a different size clothes and no longer had high blood pressure, so I was thankful. I had a baby in 2010 and had to have the band loosened a bit. Of course, I gained a few lbs. So after I had my baby, I'd gained 15 lbs of the lost weight back. Then I lost 20 lbs without having the band tightened. Oh the roller coaster! The weight started piling back on. I had my band tightened, loosened, tightened... Now, I will admit, I didn't work the band as I once had. I started hitting the sweets pretty hard. After all, there's no restriction for ice cream. :( So in this past year, my body has began to ache. I'm unable to be as active with my children as I'd like, and my blood pressure is teetering toward the high side again. I've done a lot of research and now realize, I probably should have chosen the GB in the first place. So, I've now seen another surgeon and hope to have revision surger to the GB by the end of the year. If you've had this yourself, what can I expect?
