I had a great Thanksgiving too Fran.  Thanks for your post, been thinking of you and many others that have not posted in a while.  I took my inlaws out to eat for the holiday meal.  This works well for us.  Got to try some things that I do not prep myself.  Stayed on track during the meal.  Looking forward to Christmas holiday and time with family.

You are looking great in your avatar.  I need to take a current pic and update mine too.  Keep up the great work!!!

Welcome to the group smile.  The emotions are normal.  Anticipation of success.  The liquids were not as bad as I anticipated.  I was lucky to have a hubby that could fend for himself for food during my liquid stage.  I recall all the feelings like I was going through this yesterday.  I am now over 2 years our from RNY and loving the results.

Any questions we can address for you?

Try a variety of cooking methods, make sure the meat is moist.  I have trouble with some pork items and chicken at times.  I had turkey chili without beans, refried beans with greek yogurt on top, yogurt and cottage cheese early out.  These settled pretty well.  Also liked my fav meatloaf recipe, it was nice to have foods that were familiar.

Are you chewing the meat well?  Get your protein in by one source or another.  Eggs, deli sliced meats, the above things, protein shakes if you need them.

I am glad that you signed up and posted a note Ronda.  Congrats on your surgery, looking forward to hearing more about the procedure.  Did this improve your restriction on food volume?  Do you have any information to share with the group.  Send any info you have, always looking forward to learning more.  Thanks

Welcome to the group Joyce.  Congrats on your recent surgery.  I am a little over 2 years out from my RNY.  This is a lifestyle change.  Dig into the reasons for your old habits and develop mew healthy habits.  I find that some of my old trigger foods are a turn off now, yayyyyy wls.

My diabetes is better controlled now, I have been off insulin for my type 2 since the day before surgery.  Not missing the several shots a day at all.  All of my other health issues are improved as well.

Hope you get your success too.

Hey Fran,

Good to see you again, I often wonder how you are doing since we had our surgeries about the same time. Glad to see you are back on track. Its so easy to fall of the wagon. But you have gone through so much you can do this!!

Congrats!!! I am so excited for you! Its definitely a long journey to get to this point. It felt like forever when I was waiting for approval and my date. I agree it is definitely a "rebirth"  You relearn how to eat and at least for me my taste buds have even changed. Its an amazing adventure so far. Good Luck and congrats again!

I just got my surgery date....

In 1978, On December 14th I came into this world.

In 2011, On December 14th I will become a new man.  A healthier individual.  You can call it "The Rebirth of Me"

I am Happy and Excited and I am sure the nerves will hit me a little closer to the surgery date but I chose this new path and I am going to the embrace it...
