I came home from surgery and IV fluids for only 1.5 days and was up 10#.  The water weight disappeared in the first 7-10 days, then the losing started in earnest.  Know that everyone loses at a different rate.  This is the greatest adventure of your life.  Do not try to rush the losing, it will happen.  Remember to sip, sip, sip, take your supplements and walk, walk, walk.

And congrats on your success!!  Lose with us, come share often.  Bariatric Buddy support is here.

Topic: Today's THE DAY!!!
Today is the day of my surgery.  The time of surgery is at 3pm and I dont know if it was just me but while on this clear liquid diet, I swear I felt my sense of smell heighten up because I was smelling every food in my vicinity.

I stand at 338lbs today and in a year, I WILL be at 215 (With God overseeing me every step of the way)

See you guys in a few days...

Topic: My first Post Op
I had my first post op appointment today , its been 12 days since surgery and I have lost 6 pounds, I was disappointed thinking it would be more but the doctor said that actually with me being on IV fluids in the hospital for 5 days he was surprised that I was showing a loss at all at this point. Soooo just wondering how long does that IV water weight stick with you? Sure hope it starts dropping soon.. thanks for listening ! Everything else is going great and I got all my staples removed today from the hernia opp so that was good news.

I agree sometimes "knowing" too much isn't good.
I know you are in good hands, and you are getting the care you need.
rest, walk, sip etc
and you will be out asap

Topic: RE: My Band
I don't have a band, but have heard that the volume does not always reflect what has been added, evaporation, loss through the injection port, not sure.  I am not sure what the 'dead space' of the band is, there is bound to be an answer somewhere in the band packaging that it originally came in.

Are you getting the needed restriction?  That is the important part.  Thanks for checking back in.  Haven't seen you for a while.  Let's continue to lose together.  Kathy

I am not the author, the original author got lost during the cut and paste part some time ago.  And I agree, well written.  Helped my hubby to understand some of my moodiness.  He does best with written info, therefore it is not JUST his wife sharing her thoughts, lol.
