ty for ur words of encouragement.  I read the same thing about the iron too.  I have been taking my vitamins, but have never been on iron.  I guess I should have been. But my levels have been pretty good.  Gonna call Monday to get my md to send me my scritps for lab work and will have it drawn this week.

I dont know why people think thta having this surger is "taking the easy way out".  I have found that there is nothing easy about it... LOL...  Its doable, but it is such a drastic change from the way I ate and such before.

 Hello,

I am almost 2 years out from my RNY.  I have been having  a problem for the the last 9 months that I was hoping some of you may be able to help. It may be too much information but I am getting desperate.  Since April of last year I have had chronic diarrhea.  It's not dumping, though. I don't eat much sweets and I avoid fried and fatty foods as much as possible. I may eat a little somehing like this once or twice a month but for the most part I really am cautious.  And obviously because of the surgery I know I can get sick from it.I do eat whole wheat bread or wraps maybe with a sandwich but usually its the arnold thins and I can't eat all of it.  Reason I'm explaining my diet is that the first thing people say is that maybe I am dumping. It doesn't matter what I eat, I can eat something one day and I will be fine but a few days later if I eat the same thing I will get bloated, gassy, and can't get to the bathroom fast enough.  

Lately, I have been able to hold my food for a little longer before having to go to the bathroom, but I will still go multiple times and it's still runny.  I have tested negative for celiac disease, I'm not lactose intolerant, chron's.  Right now the surgeon and the gastro Dr I have been seeing think it may be something I have to live with...Which I have been but I am just so emotionally tired and drained that I have to reach out to my fellow RNYers to see if this is something I may be missing.  By the way my health numbers are normal, BP is great, cholesterol, blood glucose, so it's not affecting other things.  

The gastro has me on some  antibiotics to see if maybe there is some bad stuff in my intestines that are overgrowing and causing this issue.   It seems to help with the bloating and gas, but not the diarrhea (it is decreasing so it helps a little).

All I want is to feel like I can continue to work out without having to worry about losing too much weight. I don't want to be scared to eat because I am worried about what will happen. I want to be able to be at work and not have to walk to another building to go to the bathroom or go out with friends and not worry about what time I should go home so I can go to the bathroom.

Sorry to dump this all on you but I have been holding it in and although my family is trying to help I don't want them to worry about me or think I made a mistake by having this surgery.

Are you taking your vitamins?  I read somewhere that ice chewing is a symptom of low iron. I am not sure how accurate that is, but maybe if you hare feeling tired and having weird cravings you may have  a deficiency.  It is worth a shot to check your levels to make sure your numbers are where they are supposed to be.  Your surgeon may have you do that anyway but double check before your appointment to see if he needs those for your appointment

WW is a great idea sometimes we stray from the path but it sounds like you are taking steps to get back on the road. Protein firs, then some veggies :)  You may find that having healthier proteins and an extra protein shake a day may kick start the weight loss again.

 A trainer is a really good idea. I used mine to make sure I wasn't hurting myself with some of the equipment and to show me some really effective exercises.   You tube has some great videos of exercises that you may find helpful. My trainer says some trainers will post videos to show you how to work specific muscles.

 He is a Shih tzu with a puppy cut. I also have his mate. They were given to me to chase away my empty nest blues. It worked they are so lovable.

Hi Lulubug,
    Thanks for the encouragement. The gym does not have classes per say. Just the orientation on how to use the equipment on my own. There are two trainers in with the gym. When I get a few dollars ahead I'm going ask them to help me set up a good routine . Maybe next month I have the ability to do that.

so gald that you are doing better and are Cancer free. 

I think that you may need to increase your calories and carbs to help you not lose anymore weight. As far as if you are too skinny, only you can tell that.  I would say go by how you feel, but u are probably still easily fatigued by overcoming the surgery and the cancer.  I think that u should speak with your Bariatric surgeon and possibly a nutritionist as well.  You could have just lost the weight due to the surgery and it might even out a bit as your further out and fully recovered from it.

 Way to go Mag!

Hopefully the gym will have a class that you will find really fun!  I never thought I would like pilates as much as I do, but I find it really a lot of fun.

 Way to go!  Keep up the great work!  Here's for a streak of days with no insulin!!  One of the happiest days of post-surgery life for me was when the Dr told me I was now considered a Diet Controlled Diabetic and that I only needed to test when I felt the blood sugar drop!

 I feel you!  I think it is a part of our life going forward. Some foods like broccoli, cabbage, beans, and cauliflower tend to make it worse.  I wish I wouldn't feel so bloated and gassy some days.
