Topic: RE: Hello Friends I'm New
I had the band 3 years ago and am now in the process of having it removed. Not to say that it doesn't work for some people, but definitely not for me. I've decided on having a revision to a DS. Now I know A LOT of people are against that surgery and those that have it, after tons of research I've decided it's the best one for me. I would suggest doing as much research as you can on all forms of WLS, talk to people on the various boards, ask lots of questions, and talk to your doctor. Only you can make the right decision, but give yourself time to do it.

Hugs,
Sukie

Hi Sukie,
Glad you are back. Please stay and post. We need veterans around here.
You are one of us not one of those. We are here to support and encourage you. Just keep posting. I'll come back and tell you more about myself, but right now I must get busy around here. Lots on my plate as are a lot of BB'ers.  We need to encourage the newer members to post and veterans to return on a more consistent way.

Nice to meet you. we are glad to have you post valuable info for our journey. I've had to back off exercise do to falls. I really miss it. And that is from a woman who didn't like exercise for most of her adult life.
     Take care and hugs.

I only see one person that MIGHT recognize me but I thought I'd drop in and say HI!! How is everyone? Even if I don't know you, tell me about how you're doing...I need some good news right now and I'd love to hear your stories. (Or bad news if that's the case)

I am in the process of getting a revision surgery myself, but I'll always be grateful for all the love and support you gave me. Hopefully you'll let me hang out here again...even if I am ONE OF THOSE!

Hugs and lots of love!
Sukie

 Hi-
I used to do OH years ago, but lost track for awhile.

I am 9 years out and charging the decade mark.  I started at 312 and am
Now 165.

Ill post more later, but I wanted to give a shout out in encouragement.  Whether
You are just considering or you have just started your post op adventure, you are embarking on
A new path that is so worth it.

You can do it.
My biggest advice is to EAT what you are supposed to eat.  It is
The key.  Do you protein.  Take your supplements.  Excercise.

Youare beautiful and deserve the life ahead of you!  Grab on and enjoy
The ride!!!

Hello All!  I posted this on main forums and wanted to share here =)

High Protein Foods:
I was fortunate that my surgeon's bariatric program had foods and vitamins from these sites available at the clinic (check with your doctor as needed):

https://store.grandhealthpartners.com

http://www.healthwisefoods.com

http://www.celebratevitamins.com

Post-Surgery Cookbook:
Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery
Available at Amazon.com

~my review of this book on Amazon~
"Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery is MUST-HAVE for post-op nutrition! I had gastric bypass recently and not only does this book have easy and delicious recipes, but also a wealth of helpful advice, hints, and tricks for eating in this new lifestyle! After trying many others like this, I found too many focused on the word "diet" instead of the healthy lifestyle change that really occurs with bariatric surgery, and many others had hard to find ingredients for strange recipes. This book was written by a woman who had one of the weight-loss surgeries and can offer first-hand knowledge of what to come in nutrition post-op, with all info advised by a registered dietician. No need to shop around like I did - this book is all you need!"

My Fav Recipe Site with Nutrition Panels:

Daily Diet Calculator:

Fun Way to Exercise:
Xbox 360 with Kinect (game console)
I used the following Dell site to order with a payment plan, as I cannot aford full amount now:

DANCE GAMES are great fun and exercise. The most highly rated dance games for the Xbox Kinect are:
Just Dance 3
