Topic: How to pick a hospital?
Hi. I know I've been MIA for several months and I'm sorry. I tried to get on a program last year but couldn't due to mental health concerns. Now I'm much more stable and ready to be a candidate for gastric banding. Anyway, there are hospitals with weightloss clinics near me. They have the same rating, 1A, and they have the same surgeons running the programs. All things seem equal. How do I pick?

You go girl! You can do it. Perhaps you need to focus on doing a 3 day de-carb. That helps break the carb cycle, cravings, etc. From the look of your avatar you are already a knock out! Look at you...such a beautiful woman!
My hubby has the job of keeping up with the dishes and kitchen each day, which isn't much with just us , but I am lucky if he does it twice a week. His only other jobs are brushing and feeding the dogs and vacuuming the furniture (dog hair), which he does a suprisingly excellent job of, if and when he bothers to do it. Unfortunately he doesn't have much drive to d the few things he can.
I am on break from school right now. I ended the semester with A's and a recognition from the arts and sciences department for outstanding acedemic achievement in my English composition class. I was very proud of that, since I have been out of school for 22 years!
Keep us posted on how your weight loss goes. I know you can do it!

Welcome to the group Heavenly. The group of feelings you shared are normal, yes, all wrapped up at once. Keep working the plan set out by your surgical team. We have other members of the group in your area of NY.
Ask any and all questions. We will do our best to share from experience. Join the monday evening chat sessions when you can. The caring and sharing that happens is second to none.
The path is full of hurdles to overcome, take them one at a time, the end result is so worth it. Hang in there. Hugs

Hello Everyone..My Name is Heavenly (yes, thats my real name) Im 24, from Upstate NY in the Albany Medical Bariatric Program- with hopes for a Vertical Sleeve. I am excited, nervous, anxious all in one. I have completed about 60% of my programs requirements and am currently working on losing the 5%, I meet with the doctor of Nutrition on the 10th where I hope he will make the referral to meet with a surgeon. I wish everyone the best of luck....I am open to any words of wisdom, thoughts of encouragements and new friends on this weight loss journey. Thank you
