Colleen,

Glad to hear from you. I'm also glad you had a wonderful. trip. I'm going to Orlando in September. I wish I knew someone with a bike here in AZ, I would love to go for a ride. Of course, not in the 100 degree weather.  Mag

Topic: Hello BB :)
Its been awhile since I stopped in to say hi, and give an update on a wls process that seemed like it was never going to get done. Now I'm into the final phases. I been on a Protein diet to shrink my liver so it does not interfer with the surgery for RNY and to have no or less complications. I'm looking forward to dropping 8 more pounds and get a date for surgery. As far as I know I'll have to flush out my system 1 or 2 days before surgery. I'm also preparing for the liquid diet I'll be after the surgery. So far I like the Chocolate shake from MuscleTech. I'm also going to see about getting chewable vitamins that taste well enough to bare.

Some second thoughts have enter my mind about the surgery and the sagging skin that comes later on. I was thinking maybe RNY is not best suited for me due to the bypass of my intestines. So VSG was another option I was looking into. My Cousin had VSG and she loves it. I know it is a slower weight loss than RNY but I'm in no rush If it means less sagging skin and my Intestines not being rearranged. Of course it is a personal decision but Its a decision I have trouble with. My biggest problem when it came to eating was having a huge appetite. I'm not a junk food eater, I just enjoy lots of delicious food, fruits and vegatables. Most of the time my foods are fried and my plate covered to the edges, lol. The reason why I bring that up is because maybe the best thing for me is VSG. RNY seems better for someone addicted to sweets and have other complications health wise.

My determination on it has been either way will get me to the goals I want to achieve. I look forward to living a healthy life style. Also shop for cloths that don't cost extra because of the size I wear. Lets face it Underwears are hard to find at bigger sizes. Just is, lol. Atleast for me and maybe for most guys.

I hope to have more to share in the near future. I also would like to welcome anyone new here. Have a blessed week and success to you all.

sorry to hear about your husbands accident and his blindness and all the other stuff that goes along with that.  Considering that, maybe you should try sleeping in seperate beds every other night or something.  Just in order to get some good sleep.  You do need good sleep.

And those cabbage wedges sound "to DIE fo".  will have to try them thursday.  How long do u grill them for?

Welcome back Colleen.  My offer of adipose transplant still stands.  I am slowly losing.  I am aproaching my 2 year anniversery of surgery.  I don't know where the last couple of years has gone.

We have been having rainy, grey week.  Moat starting around the garage.  Sounds like you had a great trip.  I went out to visit Patrece in late May, we had a good time visiting too.  Saw her garage project, looking forward to my next visit and seeing the finished project.

Enjoy your time on the harley with your hubby, shocks will soften the jarring on your bony bottom, lol.  I am enjoying time working on quilt projects, not enough hours in a day.

You are welcome Fran, I like the idea of crawling before walking and running.  We are like children, learning our bodies all over again.  Scoot across the floor, crawl and pull yourself up on the furniture to see what is just out of vision from the starting position.

I go in spurts with getting online here, but it is weird, Patrece and I do not talk about who is going to be online more, just happens that we fill in the times when each other have other commitments and obligations.  Great to have a friend for filling in your gaps.  The group here also fills in some of my gaps in life.  I am thankful that I found the bariatric buddy group at a time in my life when I really needed it.  I try to pay it forward, when I can.  Hugs and let's be loser's together!!!

Good morning bariatric buddy group.  I a thrilled (not really  ) to report that it has been raining for the last 3 days and I now see the beginnings of a moat around the garage.  I am so glad that I took a few minutes a few days ago to trim the dandelions.  I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, the sound of raindrops is like a sedative for me.

How is everyone doing on their goals?  Getting in the exercise?  Posting in the challenge area above?

I am sitting here with a chai tea, catching up on emails and planning a day in my quilting area.  Working on organizing and planning my next project.  I still have a couple of nights before returning to work.  Dennis is on vacation and we are each working on hobbies today.  Dennis like to work on plastic models and has an area set aside for this in the basement, most of the basement, but that is alright!!

I had planned to drive to Duluth to try to watch ships go under the lift bridge, the weather is not cooperatins, but I did find a web cam that I can watch any activity from the dryness of my studio.  So far, nothing to watch on the webcam but raindrops anyway.

Enjoy your wednesday, do something kind for yourself and for someone else too.  Hugs and happy losing.

I'm not big on shake recipes because I hate them but this does sound really good.  I guess I'll have to buy the stuff and give it a try.

Topic: Hello
It's been a while since I've been on here.  I will try to catch up with the posts.

I just got back from Florida.  My mom and I took an impromptu road trip and stayed with relatives for a few days.  We had a really good time.  It was nice to just relax and visit with my cousins who(whom?) I haven't seen in almost 30 years.  We went to Daytona Beach one day and my mom and drove to St. Augustine and spent the day there.  We took the guided tour and bought cheesy tourist stuff which I love!  We also all went to a big flea market they have there and I got another tattoo.  This one is on my ankle and I kept my mouth shut but MAN did it hurt!

Still trying to gain weight but without success. I had gained 4 pounds while I was in Florida but by the time we got back I had lost 3.  I'm starting to get used to this super skinny body and am thinking I'm not going to worry about it too much.

The Harley is in the shop getting new shocks; I hope it's ready in time for my husband's vacation.  It's been so long since I've been on it I can't wait to go for a ride.  On the other hand my best friend and her husband just got a boat and we went out on it the other day and had a great time.

So far it's been a good summer.  I hope you are all having a good time as well.

I might tolorate snoring, or wearing earplugs to tolorate the snoring if I wanted to share the same bed, but he thrashes too... drives me crazy. And since his accident that blinded him 4 years ago (almost) I am more mommy and caregiver, so sleeping together really doesn't appeal to me anyways.

Cabbage wedges are DELICIOUS! You take a head of cabbage and quarter it from top to bottom, then half the quarters. The cut pieces are wedges. You lightly butter each of the cut sides of the wedge, salt and pepper over the butter, then wrap bacon (uncooked) around the wedge. Wrap the wedge in a foil pouch, add a tiny bit of water, then seal the foil closed. Then you can bake them, or cook them on the grill. They are so yummy! Even people who don't much care for cabbage like them. I don't eat them often due to the fat content, but now and then I do.
