Ugh. Pardon my typos. I forgot to proof it before I posted it. I'm not illiterate - honest.

Has the rain let up yet Kathy? We've been having a bit. Lots of thunderstorms in the last week. We actually had a tornado warning in the coutny I live in last night. My husband and I sat out on the porch watching for twisters last night, as did most of the rest of the neighborhood.

I had the second part of my sleep study done last week too Tim. I didn't realize how tired I am all the time until I actually got some decent sleep! Now I'm dragging butt. Nagged my PCP about getting my equipment at my appt today. Hope you get yours soon too Tim! I think we're about to discover a whole new world. Had no idea I was dead on my feet. Yay us!!!!!
Topic: PCP Appt Today
Well I had my PCP appointment this morning. I lost a whole nother 3 lbs since Tuesday!!! I had to get a whole physical, because when I asked the nutritionist to have sign the bariatric paperwork, my PCP must have felt like someone was piddling in his corner. Soooooo... he is happy with what I am doing. He said he will support me for the surgery, but does so "hesitantly." He said he would rather see me do it on my own through the lifestyle changes I have made, and he is also of the opinion that once I get my CPAP machine the weight will start dropping off of me - yeah okay pal, and I'm the pope's daughter. I laughed at him, and told him with a BMI of around 57 that's not very likely. He said that he's seen "a lot of people" get the surgery, and lose a lot of weight and then put it back on and then more. WTF? What people are these? Whatever Dr. Reese. So I asked him again if he was going to fill out the paperwork and send it the the bariatric center. He said yes. I placated him and told him "ya never know - there's still a lot of time befroe I'll be able to get the surgery." Dumb a$$. So anyhow a NSV and a SV for me today!!!

Thank you ladies. I'm leaning more and more towards VSG. I realize there is a give and take for any surgery I under go. Giving up 85% of my stomach and accepting what is expected or could be the outcome of it. I'm going to talk with my surgeon about it. Hopefully It's not going to be a big deal to change my mind at this time. Regardless its still my decision :)

Topic: RE: Challenge...NOT for everyone!
Thanks Amalia! I will get through this, whatever it is. Will just be glad to get a definative answer to what it is and know how and when it will be taken care of. Yes...TONS of stress, and lots I haven't even posted about. When it rains it pours, but hopefully everything will level out here soon.
All of our bodies have to have a time to catch up as we go through the weight loss. it is normal. You and I both know your efforts are not wasted, look at what you have lost already just since we began the challenge! The loss will pick back up. AND the healthy eating will help you keep off what you have lost! You are doing great!
Hugs!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!

((Patrece)) I hope everything goes well and you either don't have an ulcer or it's something easy to fix. It COULD be the stress. You have been through a lot lately!
I hope all of you are doing well and are successful in your efforts. I'm doing as well as possible, considering that the scale isn't moving. I continue on my no-bad-carb diet, in which I am doing very well... better than I expected, actually.
Yesterday, I made some tilapia fish in the oven and had some of that + veggies for lunch and for dinner I had a chicken burger pattie with some salad. Late at night i WAS hungry so I made some Quick Knorr soup and had it with a piece of cheddar.
Praying that this whole effort doesn't go to waste.

You sound like I was. Not a big sweet eater but loved my food. Being Italian I grew up loving food. I would eat because it was always a celebration. Then decided I didn't like being so over weight and tired of paying such high prices for plus size clothes that weren't very cute.
I ended up with the vsg. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out but glad I did it. Like you I started thinking about my intestines being rerouted and that frightened me.
You do have to make your own decision. Weigh your options about vitamins after care and study the operations in general. It will put your mind more at ease.
Take Care,
Michele
