What abou****er exercise?  Can you try that?  Less strain on joints and such - not sure if it's enough of a relief though for your situation.  Just a thought.

Hi Shannon!  I have a skinny sister too.  She has problems all her own though - namely bulemia and anorexia.  I tried to tell her once when she was fretting about her wieght that if she switched to diet soda she could lose 5 pounds easy, but she informed me she needed the calories from the regular soda because she didn't eat anything else.  She smokes 3 packs a day too.  We both did damage to ourselves, just in different ways.  I was in drama club and chorus and she was the soccer player and cheerleader.  Nothing like being compared by your parents either.  "Why can't you eat more like Jessica; why can't you dress more like Jessica; why can't you look more like Jessica?"  I totally get it Shannon.

I'm with ya on the CPAP too.  Have had mine for a week now.  I keep waking up panicking feeling like I'm suffocating, but I just try to lay there and deep breath through it.  I actually kept it on the whole night Sunday night.  Does yours have a ramp buton so the pressure builds gradually?  I can't stand it all blowing in my face all at once.  The sleep tech told me that a person adjusts to it after about ten mins too, so maybe find someway to distract yourself for ten mins and maybe it will be better?  The deep breathing  helps me some.  Also laying on my side instead of my back.  Helps it feel more natural.  I tried taking some melatonin the other night too so I would be too sleepy to fuss with it.

What branch of the military?  My brother in law is in the Army.  My sister (the skinny one) is a military wife.

Sounds like the spreadsheet is a great idea, Mag!
I could never get that organized! I hope your sleep gets back to normal. That's about how long I sleep too and it doesn't feel nearly enough!

Amalia and Patrece,

Amalia  I'm glad you are working hard to keep down the carbs. I know it is difficult to do. This week I have had too many carbs. I'll cut back today.  I've been eating many protein bars and they are pretty high with carbs. Must have cooking real meals as a top priority.

The spreadsheet is doing what I wanted it to do. My water and meds and supplements are easier to keep track of and it has shown me where  I'm making the errors.

We got rain yesterday so no cook-out. We needed the rain so much. The Monsoon's have started. I love to watch the storms roll through. Sometimes they are really dangerous. In 2009 it took one of our trees down. It did lay on the flat roof on the front porch. Main roof was not touched. the landscape company was able to right it and stake it. It's the one that died this year due to the frost.

I'm sleeping 6 hours every night now. Getting things done around the house. Tomorrow is dentist appointment. I'm meeting a women, Sharon, that I know from the Over 50 Forum. I'm looking forward to this.

Hugs,     Mag

Hi ladies, just want to say hello.  I also want to send many blessings to the other group members.  I hope you are all doing well.  I think of this group often.  I finally made it to one of the Monday chats, but got a phonecall from my father so that was the end of that.  I will make it one of these days.

I am doing well.  Very happy lately.  Very busy too.  I suppose I'm doing what I thought I wouldn't do when I was watching all the postopers get busy and leave lol.  I'm not gone, but I'm barely on.  Oh well.  C'est la vie.

Much love to you all.  Hugs.

It's Monday today, so I guess I'd better post for Sunday before things get away from me (which they do too often!)
The bad news is that the scale is stuck. I've been fighting with that last kilo waay too long and so far it's winning! The good news is that I'm learning A LOT about the new Atkins and I think I'm finally getting a grip on carbs- even carbs that I had no idea were there. It's a tough diet but since I'm on the last leg of my weight loss struggle I guess I have to be tough on myself.
So... yesterday... Breakfast - coffee, 1/2 deviled egg with light mayo, 1 slice light cheese, 1 slice light ham, 1 mini barley rusk.
Lunch/dinner - we ordered out burgers and tomato-onion salad. They came with FF and pita bread, neither of which I touched. I ate 1 1/2 grilled burger (no bread) for lunch with some salad and 1 burger for dinner. For a late snack I had soup and cheese. Carb counting was a pain because I'm still learning but I guess practice makes perfect!

Amalia,

I can't sleep if I'm hungry either. I also can't sleep if my feet are cold. lol We have not had dinner yet. Must figure out what is going to be first. I've got 30 minutes to figure it out. Take care of your self.  Hugs     Mag
