You're almost there! Months before surgery I was following the life long post op diet - it helps to get used to the changes I think - well not that anything can really prepare you for the first bit right after surgery. But I lost some weight and got a good diea what I was getting myself into. I also started an exercise regimine too. It's great you are looking to start these things BEFORE and not after! Best of luck to you!

Good going Sara!!!!! Onderland. I'm so happy for you. Nice to get your update. Your weight loss is incredible. I'm jealous. I've slowed down quite a bit, but still losing. Have Dr. appointment on the 5th of October. My 9 month check in. I have a sensitive pouch and not able to eat enough to get in all of my protein. Still using protein drinks. Are you able to eat Pasta now? I'm not able to tolerate it yet. I use a lot of soft foods so I don't get sick. It is much better than 3 months ago. I've learned a few ways to "cheat." Need to get back to following program to stop cheating myself of better health and improved weight loss.
Please keep checking in . I love getting to hear about your success. Hugs, Mag

Topic: RE: Making bad choices! HELP
Jeannie, I'm not post surgery yet, but I am paying much more attention to foods and drink. I just found that Crystal Light makes a lemonade and a couple other flavors for water that are sweetened with Truvia and sugar. So, they may be a help. Check out their label. Re carbs, if you must have pasta, try the brown rice or whole wheat pastas. I prefer the brown rice pasta and, in small amounts, may be ok for you. I have never been much of a soda drinker. I know carbonation is highly discouraged by my doc but they do say soda can be had if it is flat and that would require leaving the can/bottle open. If it's the carbonation you crave, I don't have a clue. You may just have to not go there. Good luck!
