Appointments and Waiting

I have my testing to do in the morning, 4 more nutrition appointments, then I will meet with the surgeon after my last appointment. Which just drives me nuts'o. When all I really want to know is it a yes or a no from the insurance company, the insurance specialist already have my weights that she needed but from what I understand is nothing will be submitted until the surgeon gives me an ok. I mean I am happy that things are finally moving along instead of this big pile that just sits there maybe I should just forget that I am doing this and go day to day instead of wishing that time would move just a little faster.

Hi Anna,

We all wanted time to move faster. After all, most of us already felt this was what we wanted. Insurances are a pain for sure. Just keep your eyes on the goal. A new and healthier you.   Mag

Hi Anna, welcome to bariatric buddy group.  The time waiting for appts seems to drag on.  Use this time to start the new habits that will be life after surgery.  The insurance companies have us wondering,  but the process works.  I am glad that I had the time to adjust my mindset on eating before the surgery happened.

Use this time to get used to smaller plates, smaller bites, chewing thouroughly and separating food from fluid intake.  I had the hardest time not drinking with my meals before surgery.  This is sooo much easier after surgery when there is not room for both solid and liquid in your pouch at the same time.

Man the waiting is the hardest part. I'm still interviewing surgeons and sometimes it takes offices over a week to get back to me. I know how you feel, but soon it will be your day and this wait will seem like nothing :)

Thank you all, I'm gald it's not just me, i have been using my sons plates and spoons and forks The smaller meals aren't too bad but usually wind up going for more. I also have the problem not drinking with my meal it's weird how hard something so simple can be, On the second I have my hopefuly last appoinment with the psychologist, if he sees fit then I can continue on. That will be one step closer then nutruition appointment, after that 3 more to go, so much easier once things start falling into place.
