I had my first post op appointment today , its been 12 days since surgery and I have lost 6 pounds, I was disappointed thinking it would be more but the doctor said that actually with me being on IV fluids in the hospital for 5 days he was surprised that I was showing a loss at all at this point. Soooo just wondering how long does that IV water weight stick with you? Sure hope it starts dropping soon.. thanks for listening ! Everything else is going great and I got all my staples removed today from the hernia opp so that was good news.

I came home from surgery and IV fluids for only 1.5 days and was up 10#.  The water weight disappeared in the first 7-10 days, then the losing started in earnest.  Know that everyone loses at a different rate.  This is the greatest adventure of your life.  Do not try to rush the losing, it will happen.  Remember to sip, sip, sip, take your supplements and walk, walk, walk.

And congrats on your success!!  Lose with us, come share often.  Bariatric Buddy support is here.

Hi Becca,

I lost very little the first 2 weeks. I thought the surgeon would be unhappy about it but he was very encouraging about it. 2 weeks after that I was 19 pounds down. Don't worry. Like Kathy said, It will happened.   This is not a sprint. It's a marathon. Pace yourself. Follow your doctor's plan.    Mag
