Hello Everybody,

Its been a while since I have checked in. I do look in every now and again. I am so glad to see so many new members. Welcome everybody. I will say if you are considering WLS surgery, you are doing the right thing. This group was my life line for a good 4 - 5 months. Everybody will send encouragement and suggestions to make this life change go much smoother.

As for me, The weight loss is doing great, I am now 150 lbs and am between sizes 8 and 10. My highest weight was 250 lbs. The scale says 150 lbs but I have to say people don't believe it. I carry this weight well and look much smaller than what that scale says. I still work out and do a lot weight training helps so much if you want to loose stuborn fat.  Would love it if can lose 25 more lbs. But will not be heartbroken if it doesn't happen as long as I don't gain any weight  I am happy.

The last time I was on here I mentioned that I found a lump on my neck. It has been diagnosed as follicular neoplasm. The lump on the left size of my neck is now 6 cm. the size of a large egg. I also have 3 more nodules on the right side but not visible like the left side. The doctors say the whole thyroid has to be removed . I try not to think about it too much as it upsets me. Surgery has been scheduled for 11/15/11.  I hate that I now have to take another pill forever. But I guess its better than the alternative of having thyroid cancer. My family have been very supportive. I have to say though lately it has been a bit smothering, but I know they mean well.

Just wanted to vent a bit, even though I am a victim of this disease I am still the rock of my family. I am always the strong one and the one that solves all for everybody. My parents and siblings have taken this news pretty hard so I can't breakdown in front of them. I certainly want to appear strong in front of my kids, they are only 14 and16 yrs old. I don't want to freak them out. My husband has been great, he keeps my spirits up.

Thanks everybody for listening.

Congrats on your successful wls.  You will make it through this next surgery.  Yes, thrilled that you do not have cancer.  I am here for you to lean on.  Taking a daily pill, and the thyroid ones are small, is something that you can do.  I take a thyroid med daily too.

We had the possible cancer scare here last week too.  Hubby, Dennis needed to have prostate surgery.  Got the pathology report back yesterday, benign!!!!!! Yayyyy, now just to recover from the surgery.  Each day is getting better and better.
