When did you start feeling hungry again?  I hear so many differant things from people and I know we are all differant.  I started feeling really hungry about one year out.  And now I am learning how to fight that again and how to choose power foods wisely.
What do you do to fight hunger?  Do certain foods satisfy you more?
Thank you!

I know you are looking for people closer to your post op time but I can honestly say my hunger was never totally taken away.  I am 5 weeks post-op tomorrow and I still get hungry, just not as horrible as before.  And what I do is make sure I eat on schedule and I eat lean protein first, then veggies, or fruit and lastly carbs.  I don't say I can't have anything I can always have a bite as long I track everything going into my mouth.  Makes me accountable.  Protein always seems to satifsy the best and last the longest.  Good luck.

I am 5 weeks out and the first 3 weeks were like hell with the head hunger... what helps me is that I never tell myself I CAN NEVER have it again, if I am dying and I have to have a bite... I will have a bite but after I get my protein in.  And sometimes I am just to full to take that bite and I tell myself I will have it next time... keeps me sane.  I have no control if I feel like I don't have a choice and that I am never allowed to have this or that food again.  I tell myself moderation and health... if I am taking care of my protein and water and vitamins, I give myself permission to have a bite

Good Luck and therapist really helps me deal with the head thing too..

Hi Elizabeth.  I have days where I am hungry and others where I remind myself to eat.  Dealing with head hunger at times.

I find that protein satisfies me the best.  Hard boiled eggs are usually handy in the fridge, along with greek yogurt.  The denser greek yougurt sticks with me.  I find that when I think I am hungry, I am really thirsty and confusing the two sensations.  I have an extra glass of crystal light and the hunger diminishes.  Keep the junky foods out of the house, keep lean protein handy.  Congrats you your success.  Let's be loser's together.
