Hi everyone, my name is Kathi K. and Kathy B. invited me to say hi to everyone.  I had my RNY on 7-18-11 and have got to say I have felt hungry since then.  I hope when I get to solids it will get better. I have my first post-op this Weds. and will see what my doctor says. I feel a little stronger each day and notice the small differences from the 18th til now.  I have a cousin and another friend who have had this and have someone to call if I'm down or need to ask a question. Having all of you will be a big help whether I just read the boards or ask one of you a question.  Thanks for having this group and inviting me to join. Kathi

Welcome to the loser's bench Kathi.  There are a few that do have feelings of hunger.  It wasn't me, at least at first.  Now from time to time, my head says I am hungry, and my pouch says not really hungry.  Yes, you may notice a big difference when you get to solids.  They will remain in your pouch longer and give you the full sensation.

In the meantime, sip, sip, sip. It is great to have others for support, we are here for you too.  Happy losing Kathi.

Thanks Kathy and I am hoping the hunger goes away.  As of now it's like nothing was done to my stomach but I do know something was.  I just saw a friend today who had the lap band done and is down 140 pounds so far.  I'm just learning my way around the site but I want to see what others are doing so it might help me,.  Thanks again Kathy!!

Hi Kahti,

Welcome to our wonderful group. I'm sorry you are feeling hungry a this point. Like Kathy said, it will (hopefully) lessen when you get on solid foods. I'm 6 and 1/2 months out. I remember the beginning very well. We are here for you. You can post anything. It doesn't need to be strictly WLS topics. I hope you fall in love with this people like I have. They are so encouraging and knowledgeable.  Hugs,    Mag

Wow Mag!  Looks like you lost a lot in 6 months.  Thanks for your support and I've heard others say they almost forget what it was like after a year or more.  My cousin said she couldn't get enough protein and wasn't hungry at all.  I wish!!  I know it will get better but at least I'm not eating doughnuts, hamburgers and fries and other bad food.  I'm hoping to get healthy and with you guys I know I will.  Thank you and hugs back at ya!!  Kathi

Hey Kathi. I think you are in the right place. I have learned so much about everything from drinking enough water to how to deal with the farts...lol..I would very much so recommend writing down your questions. I have a note pad in the kitchen and here at the desk. I jot them down and then Ask asap. Mark them off as accomplished...Feels good to get it done'. Have a wonderful day.

May the wind always be at your back and the shinning sun be on your face.

Thanks TNgal!!  I have been keeping my food and water diary to track how things go down and also for the nutritionist in 3 months.  It's good to have all of you to ask questions.  Hope the weekend treats you well!!

Welcome Kathi! This is a great group and you will find so many people willing to help you through the process. Please ask your questions you'll always find someone willing to answer.  Best of luck!  I remember I was also hungry but realized it was "head" hunger and I was going through withdrawals. Take it day by day it will get better.

Hey Stephen!  I agree with the head hunger.  I'm loving not eating much right now but know later I'll miss having sweets and such.  I am taking it day by day and not looking ahead too far.  Thanks for the encouragement!!
