Good Morning!!

Just thought I would check in and update. I have to say that live is good and I feel wonderful!!. I see many new members on here. Welcome!!. You will find that this is a wonderful site for information and motivation.

I have now lost 68 lbs since surgery (6 months post op) but  a total of 83 libs since I lost some preparing for the surgery. I have reached many goals. I know weigh much less than hubby. I can cross my legs. (really happy to be able to cross my legs). I am no longer morbidly obese, or obese, now I am just over weight, lol. I have to lose 28 more lbs to  be normal weight.  I will make it there!! I feel so good. My feet no longer hurt, my back no longer hurts. I feel thin! I look so much younger and feel younger! People don't recognize me, I love that!! I am now between sizes 12 and 14. I started at size 22/24. Goal size is size 8. I will make that too!! I am determined.

Those of you that are thinking about WLS, good for you. The main goal is to get healthy not look good. I didn't have medical reasons like high blood pressure, or diabetes, heart decease etc, but I was heading in that direction. My aches and pains are gone. I actually like to work out now. Not on my list of priorities before. Food is no longer my focus, it really does not excite me anymore. I really have to force myself to eat alot of the times, sometimes  I even forget not because I don't want to gain the weight back but because I just simply forget. To an overweight person that is a great feeling.

For those of you that have started your journey. Please don't get discouraged about not losing weight fast enough, I haven't lost as much weight as most people have at 6 months out but I have lost so many inches and I feel good. You will get there!! I will have to post new pics this week. Just so busy,  But will make a point of things to do this week.

Well have to go to work now. I will check in again soon.!!

Hi Sam,

It's so good to hear from you. I'm glad you are doing so great. Overweight is good for 6 months out. I started out very big.  Down from a 5X/6X  to a 3X. Some of those are getting lose. I don't want to buy clothes right now so I'm just going to wear baggy pants. lol.
Post when you have time. Love hearing from you,

I haven't been on this site in months, and yours was the first post I read, and I have to say I'm SO glad I did!  I'm also a little over 6 months post-op, and right around the same place you are.  I haven't lost as much as some people, but I feel SO good!  Mostly, what stands out to me is that I feel very "normal".  I go out to eat with friends and eat a small but not atypical portion (I used to eat 2-3 peoples' worth of food).  I eat a meal and get hungry again at a normal interval (as opposed to being hungry all the time).  I still enjoy food, and I haven't had negative reactions to anything I've tried, but my life no longer revolves around food.  Meanwhile, I walk more places, cross my legs, wear a bathing suit in public, and look pretty cute in my summer clothes (which I have bought in the regular size section of typical stores - NOT Lane Bryant or Plus size sections).  I'm down from a size 24 to a size 14, 100 lbs total as of today.  What really hit me was when my doctor told me that the average American woman wears a size 14.  Hey, that's me - AVERAGE sized!  I'm still looking to lose 20-40 more lbs, but I'm pretty happy right now too!
Starting Weight: 277.5, Pre-op Weight: 259.3, Current Weight: 176.8
