Nutritionist Appt This AM

I went to the nutritionist this morning.  The last time I went (June 2, 2011) she added Victoza to my medicine regime.  It made me really sick  the first few days I took it, then again  for a few days when the dose increased.  It makes me feel full really quick all the time, and it takes away my appetite.  For example I was still full from last night's dinner (5:00 pm) at 9:30 pm when my husband wanted a snack.  I went along with it, but took at least half of what I would normally.  Bad choice.   It made feel so yucky.  Vctoza actually slows the process of your stomach emptying and I've discovered that when I eat to much or too quick it makes me really sick to my stomach.  I guess this is a good preparation for the bypass.  My fasting blood sugars are still too high, but this morning when I weighed in at my NUT appt, I lost 9 pounds!   347 is the lowest I've been since I started seeing the nutritionist almost a year ago.  I'm psyched!  I haven't been below 350 since before I met my husband.  My NUT, Dr. Solomon, added omeprezol (or however you speel that) to my regimine.  I feel like an old person - taking 4 different meds now.   Janumet, Lisinopril, Victoza and now Omeprazol!  Yikes!  I'm also taking advantage of OH's nifty food log so I don't have to write it in a notebook anymore.  I'll be able to give Dr. Solomon much better logs by printing these off.  Thanks OH for making a grueling task easier!  I HATE logging my food!  Now if only there was a place to keep track of blood sugars on here.  I HATE doing that too.  I think what really keeps me going is that they're going to need to see that I am compliant if they're going to approve me for surgery, and I have to have all these heatlh issues under control best I can.  So anyways - score points for me and Victoza today!!!

Good to hear that the victoza is working for you.  I take it too, side effect of nausea helps some of us to eat less too, then I really didn't notice any nausea.  I was in a holding pattern of not losing for several months and my MD suggested trying the victoza.  It is spendy, thank goodness for insurance.  I have started losing again, slowly, but losing and that is what counts.

I am a 21 months out from RNY.  Loving that my tool works, yayyyyy wls.
