Postop day #4 moving right along....slowly but surely!
Today is my postop day #4 and so far so good. Yesterday I had my first BM, but then they wouldn't stop....kinda hard on my body to keep getting up and down. Feel pretty tired today, but still plugging away.
I also am a little concerned about one of my puncture sites, that has gotten larger and pink, kinda warm to the touch, with a distinct white rim around it. We called the surgeon on call but they were no help. I haven't been running a fever and have felt pretty good, up until the diahrrhea last night.
We may head to the ED tonight just to have it looked at. I don't need a wound infection or peritonitis starting.
Anyway...I am alive and well! Thanks for all your encouragement and support! One day at a time....Sweet Jesus!

Hi Arianne,
Glad you are home. Please remember to walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip. Very important as you know.
Just remember that Saturdays at an ED are awful. You might be there for a long, long time. Didn't the on call surgery give you ANY advice about it? Last thing you need is an infection.

Well I survived the ED in record time. Doctor thought it was more of an allergic reaction to the skin glue than an infection. But he still started me on Keflex for seven days, and after the first two doses I am already seeing improvement in the puncture site. I have way more energy today and that is awesome!
Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday!

Welcome to the losers bench! I am glad you were proactive and went to get medical care for the incision site. Better safe than sorry! Listen to your body and rest as needed, but do be sure to get in lots of little walks and sip sip sip and focus on protein!
