Try adding in a protein shake in the AM if you do not ALREADY DO THAT. i HAD TO DO THAT TO GET MY WEIGHT LOSS GOING BETTER EARLY ON. Ooops sorry bout the cap locks.

Try very hard to stay away from carbs that do not come from fruit and veggies.

You are welcome. Best of luck.

I am almost six months post op and getting exercise is my issue. On the weekends it is great for now since we are at a trailer and walking with the kids and the dog is great. At home during the week, it is work and kids activities and helping with homework - there just doesn't seem to be the time. I need to push to have 'me' time which is not working out well.

As for the food, I was getting bored, and a little jealous of the no red meat thing, but I got inventive last weekend. I was making meals for the freezer and made a chicken equivalent of stew (same veggies but with chunks of chicken breast) and a shepperds pie with ground chicken instead of ground beef. The latter I measured the veggies, chicken and potatoes for two servings putting them into a small casserole. Now I don't need to be missing the same foods my family is eating.

The water is not an issue. There are times I get bored with it but I have discovered a wide range of caffeine teas that are interesting.

This is very much what I need at the moment and I am totally in.

The areas that I honestly need to focus on are getting the protein in, getting my supplements in and working off what I have regained. I plan on going to the gym and trying to work out with my family more, I will try to cook more soy and tofu so I can get my protien in, and start buying supplements when I go to the store or order online. I really would love encouragement from the group.

Good Morning,
I think this would be a great time to bring this challenge back (since I need it so much!).
I had my RNY 2-14-2011 and I am down around 84 lbs. My weight loss has plateaued and I am eating bigger portions than I was a month ago. I have very serous eye problems so I can't exercise like I would like. I do walk but not enough to get my heart going.
Sooo I found theses containers at Target I think they are called Fit Fresh. They are 8 oz. containers. I am trying to fill one with what ever I am eating and stop when I'm done. Sometimes I still feel hungry. I am terrible with a food journal but I am doubling my efforts there. Can anyone think of what else I could do?

Ok I need help on everything. I am 18months post op VSG and have regained 10lbs from my lowest. I am eating bigger portions now, do not get in all of my water, do not exercise. I do take my vitamins everyday. I really hate feeling this way

Hello...

My Name is Rae Ann and I just joined the group. I need a bariatric buddy because I have no one that understands my needs for encouragement.

I had an open RNY in 2005 and had been off track for sometime. I decided a month ago that I would regain control of my self, my emotions, my life and my tool.

I started out slow with the exercise, and have (in one month) worked myself up to walking 5 miles a day, I strength train as I walk. The more I move my muscles, the more I feel the burn...The burn means its working~right? HeHe...

I take my multi vit every morning and every evening. I with out hesitation do all of the suggested for this plan.

I need to be accountable and this is a great place to be.

Thank you so very much for allowing me to be part of your group.

Hi i am new to the bariatric world i just had my first consultation 2 weeks ago and i am going to go meet with a nutritionist on the 15th of this month. I'm not sure exactly what i should be doing I'm trying to limit carbs and started taking the vitamins they said i need and trying to limit my proportions but not exactly sure what i should be doing. I'm hoping that the visit on the 15th will give me a clear view on what i am to do. any thoughts or suggestions to prep me for this first visit?

hi everyone

today is my first day on the medifast / lean green step to a better me . i found myself feeling extremely full and actually getting sick of eating i calculated it out that i have to drink a shake every 4 hours and then my one lean and green meal. i am over stuffed and i still have 1 more shake to go. did anyone else have this problem? i think the reason why i feel this way is because i never ate like this i use to only eat 1 meal day out of sheer lack of time. now im finding it hard to actually eat the requirements necessary that was set by my doc . this is a life change for me and im looking forward to a long and healthy future kiss
