Ok, I am in. I am 3 months out 58 lbs down but I can't seem to motivate fir exercise. I also am 6 months out from left total knee replacement. I am eating right and trying to get my water in fr the most part. I have PT 2 times a week.

I just wish the weight was coming off faster. I am losing inches see photos.

I am so bored with food now ( never thought I would say that)

I am going to try and walk 2 mies everyday starting today!

Welcome to the challenge! You are doing great with the weight loss! Exercise will help too. Also sometimes when the scale is not moving, inches are still coming off.

It can be hard to not get bored with the food. Time to get more creative! Check out our recipe thread, and also feel free to post for additional meal / food ideas.

Best of luck getting in the 2 miles! If you find it too hard, don't give up, just go for 1 mile and work your way up. It can be hard to get motivated, but just remember the rewards you and your body will reap! Maybe find somewhere really nice to walk (trails, nature, something other than around the neighborhood) and that may be a motivator too. Make it a special and enjoyable time. maybe take an ipod or cd player along for some motivational music to kee you company along the way.

Be sure to check in! best of luck.

Lisa,
Sounds like you have a great action plan in place. Small steps are often the best, so we don't get overwhelmed and give up altogether. You are welcome for this post, and I look forward to seeing howour week progresses for each of us!

Ok ....SOOOO here is what I plan to work on this week, each and every day.
    1. Remembering my supplements each day. I seem to always miss a day or two each week. No missed days from here on out!

     2. Less coffee. More water and crystal light. I mixed up a big jug of crystal light and put it in the firdge, so I can't even have the excuse of being too busy or lazy to make it. No coffee all day as I have been. 2 cups in the morning, and if I MUST 1 cup in the afternoon. (no real sugar no non dairy creamer)

     3. I WILL walk at least the 2.5 mile trek Kathy and i walked while she was here, at least 4 times this week. In addition to this I will be doing lots of work above and beyond the norm around here.

     4. I am going to decarb. I plan to do the New Atkins phase one, which should put me into fat burning mode at 20 or less carbs daily. WHICH in all honesty, will be a very good thing, as carbs make me feel blah when I have too many, and it will help me get off these last 5 of the 10 I gained while in school last semester.

This is my plan and I plan to stick to it! I will check in tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone participating!

Soooo.. How is today going for you all? Mine is going fairly well, but not perfectly. I just had my last permitted cup of coffee for the day, and I wish I had spaced them out more..lol. I drank 22 oz of icewater so far today. Am getting ready to have a glass of orange crystal light, but that actually isn't stated as an allowed item on the atkins induction (phase one), but i will keep it a small glass. It is sugar free so I should be ok.

Planning a walk this evening when it cools down a bit outdoors. I have not consumed any carb laden foods so far today, and don't intend to. It is going to be hard to go through the phase 1 with NO cottage cheese or yogurt. Those are some of my favorite easy protein foods, but contain too many carbs to get me into ketosis. Sooooo I am going to have to go with a slice of cheddar and a veggie that is very low carb as a replacement or something similar to this.

I am going to go to the Atkins site, and look at recipes for Phase 1. Then if I find some I am interested in, I will tweak them to reduce the fat content without adding any extra carbs. Wish me luck..lol

I wish you all the same! I will check back in later on.

Patrece,
I have yet to have my surgery but I think I'll take you up on your challenge this week. I am 25 and have been having problems with my knees, so not good! I am challenging myself to drink more water (which i hate) and start exercising (even if its just walking for 30 mins).

Welcome to the challenge! Following the healthy habits are beneficial to all, not just post-ops. Good for you on joining in! Try crystal light, sometimes thats easier than water. Also sugar free popsicles are another easy way to get in liquids that count as water intake, and with summer here, popsicles are rather refreshing as well!

Check in daily if you can ok??!!

You go girl!
