Hi again,

I forgot to say I saw the PNP today again. We talked a long time. He had no patients waiting for him. He raised my Lamictal by 50mg for a total of 300mg and my Triavil by 25/2 for a total of 75/6. He left my Effexor at 400mg. He said that if I'm not better when I see him in 10 days we may have to do some major changes. Scary thought.

Thanks, Patrece, for a new way to look at the doctor's visit. I bet that is what he was doing. One of his comments was that another patient of his had lost a good amount of weight just like me and when she came back for her 9 month check-up she had only lost 5 more pounds. He ask if that was what was going to happen to me. No, of course not. Are you going to follow the plan? yes, I will.

I decided that I am going to make myself a list. I love lists. I will make an excel program with all my daily requirements and what time they need to be done. That way I can print it out and "X" the one that I am doing at that time. It will help since I've been having so much trouble staying focused on what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm not going to get O/C about it. I know that appointments and life in general changes day by day, but this way I can look at the list and see what comes next.

Everyone have a good sleep.
Talk tomorrow after I get organized.          Mag

Best of luck in working with the PNP and getting things straightened out and getting you feeling better. Changes can b scarey, but sometimes necessary and good. I hope you aren't facing that, but if you are, I hope you feel better than ever!

You are welcome for the "new perspective" on the visit with your surgeon. I love your idea for the excel list. If you are a list person, that will be a wonderful tool for you! Remember we must always be pushing ourselves just a bit outside of our comfort zone. That is when we grow, change, progress....all the good stuff comes from the growing pains. I know you can do this!

It looks like yesterday must have been a tough day for all of us. I hope today is much better.
What took up all afternoon and evening yesterday was a visit to my eye doctor and a subsequent outing with hubby where we discussed some serious things about my health. It began as a recommendation by my eye doc to get eye surgery. I have many eye problems arising from chronic and severe nearsightedness and various other problems (such as repeated Optic Neuritis attacks from MS). Although he had suggested pretty much the same thing 2 years ago, I had chickened out, but this time my blindness is getting worse and even I can't dismiss it. So we tentatively decided for an eye operation in September.
We then went out to eat a light dinner of seafood in Pasalimani (the Pasha's port in Pireas) and by the time I got home I was dead tired, but stressed out too and couldn't get to sleep until 4:30 am.
Food-wise I did well yesterday and I hope this weekend will continue to be the same. I'm reading the new Atkins Diet e-book and learning many new things, such as why we must NOT follow a reduced fat diet - which I had been doing until now.

Amalia

P.S. No, I never measured inches, but my new pants felt BIG yesterday!

Ohhh Amalia...I hope and pray that all goes well with your eyesight and the surgery, should you decide to go forward. If you have an option to save your vision, I would highly recommend it. You know my hubby is blind, and it has been something he has never accepted and has really changed him as a person, and takes a toll on him and all of his family. What would the surgery entail? My heart and prayers are with you on all of this.

Yesterday was a very tough day for me. So much going on, and much of it life altering. I hold faith it will all turn out for the best.

As for the New Atkins, we do need a certain amount of fats, healthy fats, but not quite as much fat as they encourage. Thats why I do a "modified" Atkins. Its funny how sometimes when the scale stops moving, our body still continues to get smaller.

Glad yoy did well on the foods!
hugs to you

Hi,
Had a pretty good day. I slept for 6 hours without waking up. Hope I can do it again tonight. Food went well as to what I ate, but not enough of it. Will drink a protein drink before bed.  Been drinking water at every opportunity. I've taken all my meds and supplements today. Best day I've had in a long time.

I made my spreadsheet on Excel for my list of times and what I need to do. My sister said she was impressed. Now to do what is on the list. Planning on the pool tomorrow. I got up this AM to walk and it was already in the 90s. But got a lot of work done today. I'm happy about that.
Hope your day and night are good.  Hugs and good thoughts going your way.    Mag

Soooooooo glad your sleep is going better for you, as well as getting in the fluids, meds and supplements! I am glad you got your spreadsheet done. Live buy it.. make it your life bible for a while, it will soon become ingrained as good habits for life. Remember, none of us do perfectly in everything, all we can do is our best!

Have a great weekend!

It's Saturday and my day is finally over so I'd better report before I forget!
A largely innocuous day today with nothing going on. Breakfast was my usual proteins, coffee and meds and went back to sleep. Slept until the afternoon right through lunch, so I went straight  to dinner with some beef and veggies. Might have a snack before going to sleep again. I can't sleep if I'm hungry.

It's Monday today, so I guess I'd better post for Sunday before things get away from me (which they do too often!)
The bad news is that the scale is stuck. I've been fighting with that last kilo waay too long and so far it's winning! The good news is that I'm learning A LOT about the new Atkins and I think I'm finally getting a grip on carbs- even carbs that I had no idea were there. It's a tough diet but since I'm on the last leg of my weight loss struggle I guess I have to be tough on myself.
So... yesterday... Breakfast - coffee, 1/2 deviled egg with light mayo, 1 slice light cheese, 1 slice light ham, 1 mini barley rusk.
Lunch/dinner - we ordered out burgers and tomato-onion salad. They came with FF and pita bread, neither of which I touched. I ate 1 1/2 grilled burger (no bread) for lunch with some salad and 1 burger for dinner. For a late snack I had soup and cheese. Carb counting was a pain because I'm still learning but I guess practice makes perfect!
