Challenge...NOT for everyone!

The weight loss always slows after we hit about 3 months out. It slows by about half. This happened with me, and when i talked to my surgeon about it, he told me that and said that it is about the normal way it goes for most RNY patients. but its ok, the loss will continue. I do understand your feelings of wasting your honeymoon period. It is a real fear and concern. When you are able, get back to it. Then keep it in order, because once you are 2 to 3 years out, it will all be up to you to maintain. The surgery doesn't do much at that point except restrict if you do not strectch out your pouch. Gotta get the lifestyle stuff down pat before that, and learn to keep it in place no matter what, but it isn't easy.

I feel confident that this will all be resolved and you will find the drive and ability to do what you need to. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for that!Once you begin getting more active, that will help too, also eating too little, not getting in the fluids, all contributes to slowing weight loss. Do you think the heat there may just be too much for you, and maybe you need to relocate? I know thats not an easy process either, but may be worth considering.

Hope you are all better very very soon. Big hugs to you.

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!

OK now, for my report. Saturday I didn't do too well. I was doing fine until lunch. I only had 1 hamburger patty with some salad. Then, of course, we went to the movies and hubby insisted we get some tortilla chips with melted Cheddar. I was not fast enough to stop him from ordering up some. Unfortunately in movies they serve double servings and I had to help him eat them!!
I skipped dinner after that and wasn't hungry for breakfast today either  but the carb damage this weekend was done.
Today I had one chicken leg split between lunch and dinner and may have some soup later on.
I hope all of you are having a great weekend!

So yeasterday I had an ok day, but never felt like eating much. We had to go to Denver to pick up Pauls Mom and Dad at the airport, as they were returning home from a visit with their son in Atlanta. The flight was delayed. By the time we dropped them off in the springs, it was 12:45 am. Stopped at a fast food reseraunt on the way home as hubby was hungry. I ate about 7 of his fries, and it set off a terrible cycle of pain and nausea. My tummy was bothering prior to that, and like a fool I listened to paul when he said ZI should try to eat a few fries, as maybe i needed food in my tummy. I WAS SOOOOO SICK and had another 45 minutes to drive us home, which took an hour and 15 minutes as I had to stop 4 times on the way. Today, I still cannot seem to eat. I had a slice of cheese and the pain returned somewhat. So now, its water, ice, and an atkins shake for lunch.

Endoscopy is to be done tomorrow at noon to see if this is an ulcer going on. The pain and stuff last night was different pain tho, not sure what all this is about. Maybe it is worsening...just not sure!?

Used my pedometer yesterday and had just shy of 10,000 steps in for the day 5.4 miles it said, based on my step legnth. So far today 4252 steps in. Feeling like I need a long lazy nap. Have a gfew errands then just might do that.

Hope you all have a great Sunday.

Dear Patrece, Amalia, and all else who check in,

It's 10:15 and I am going to take my pills with a protein shake and call it a night. Didn't sleep well during the night, but had a wonderful 4 hour afternoon nap.

For breakfast I had a fat free no sugar added yogurt and 1/2 cup of Go Lean. I had lunch but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I remember asking Ellen if she wanted some for lunch, but she was still full from a late breakfast. I know it was a decent food item. For dinner we went out to eat. I had broiled flounder, a small amount of salad with onions and a tiny bit of ranch dressing. Also had 4 small bites of white baked potato with no butter or sour cream. It was fine without it.   Ellen ate well for dinner but then had a chocolate dessert that use to be my favorite.  I took a taste of it from the tip of my spoon and it was so rich I didn't even want to have what was left on the spoon. So all in all, it was a good food day. No exercise at all. Well off to drink that protein.    Mag

AWESOME!!!!! Sounds like today was a better day. And yeay for that 4 hour nap. You needed it I know!
Its funny, we get used to avoiding the old "fav's" and one day we taste em and it just isn't as enjoyable as we remember. Have a wonderful day tomorrow. I too am off to bed. Have my endoscopy tomorrow and a few things to do including a shower and laundry and errands, before I leave for that. I hope you rest great tonight!

Good Evening Everyone,
Well, I slept from 2AM to 3AM and then again from 8AM to 9AM. That's it for sleep.

I ate Go Lean w/ a banana for breakfast and it came right back up. I waited an hour and had 4 ounces of the ff no sugar added yogurt. It sat OK. For lunch I had 2 ounces of the flounder and a few bites of salad. That filled me up. Now having a cottage cheese snack. My poor little pouch has a burning pain which is very usual for me when foods don't set well. Have no idea what I'm going to eat for supper. I see one protein drink if not 2 in my near future.

I've been doing great with my water intake. Very pleased with my self. Also had PT today. Did many new and more strenuous exercises. I'm on Medicare due to my disabilities. I am at my limit so this is my last week of PT for now. They said when I have my knee replaced in November they will write out a special request for more hours. So next week it will be up to me to get all my exercise done without Anthony to keep me in line. Everyone at the clinic is wonderful and I am going to miss them all. Anthony told me today that he is very impressed with the amount of progress I have made. When he first met me he didn't think I would be able to handle the therapy. I'm so glad he didn't tell me that until today. But life goes on. I'll have to go to the local gym and find some new friends to workout with.

Hope everyone is doing well. 2 days until my Dr's appointment.     Mag

(((MAG))) I am glad you have an appt very soon with your doc. I it the bariatric surgeon you will be seeing? I think what you are going through with your pouch warrants a discussion with him  / her and some follow-up. May I sugest you try to take prilosec (omeprozole ...the gneric works as well is is much cheaper)? I take it daily and it eases my pouch and any burning and pain occuring there. Helps foods sit better.

Sounds like you are doing much better, and for that I am so happy. I do worry about you. Please take good care of yourself.  I am so sorry your PT is coming to an end. Perhaps your therapist and you could petition medicare to give you an extension on the PT. Worse they could do is to say no, but maybe you would get a yes.. never hurts to ask.

You hang in there girl, and just keep doing what you are able to do, and as time goes on, that will gradually build up. Water aerobics are a great option for when traditional workouts and exercise are difficult. I'll bet you would meet lots of ladies and new friends doing that.

Have a wonderful day! Now, I am going to enter my update in a sperate post. hugs to you.
