Hey Tiffany! Welcome to the challenge! You can do this. I am so sorry for your loss. These experiences can really throw us off track in so many ways. If it helps, remember that your best friend would want you to succeed and do well in this, use that knowledge to motivate yourself when it is hard to stay focused.
My deepest sympathy on your loss. I am proud of you for taking this step to get back on track!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!

Last evening I went for a walk. It was only 1 mile, but lots of up and down hill so the resistance is great, and it helps shake things up a bit for how my body has to exert itsself to handle the change. Makes for a great walking workout. Then add to the uphill, a strong wind that kicked up from in front of me, and the resistance was even greater.I also clocked 2 other walking routes I can walk to keep the view and effort a bit different, but all routes from my home are hilly. One route is 2.5 miles, and the other 2.3 miles. I have two more routes I want to clock, which, one is a shortened version of another, and one extends the 1 mile route. Want to have my options open and know how much I am getting in.Now, one thing I want to know is: What are each of us doing to be nice to ourselves? I am taking a nap if I need one, taking care of my garden, and spending time with my grandkids now and then. Today I am scheduling my 3 year wls follow up appt along with a ck to see if I have an ulcer going on.Hoping you all have a very successful and fuilfilling day today!

ok so I have had a pretty good day so far.   Made a spur of the moment call to the gym and got an appt with my new trainer.  Most of it was assessment type stuff, but I learned alot.  Did my weight and my measurements (but dummy me forgot to get them from her)

-Took my vitamins yesterday and on a good start today.
- Had my protein shake today
-ate breakfast
-  Made it to the gym
- SF pudding today for my sweet tooth
- cooking cabbage for dinner ( so there goes my veggies)

I am a bit tired though.  Worked lastnight.   Went to the hospital to pick up my prescriptions and had to wait 40minutes.  Then went to giruardis and got some things that I needed (flaxseed for one).  Then I came home to give fiance something and headed right back out to chiropractor.  Luckily they saw me early.  I then came home and got 2 hours sleep before heading to the gym.  Getting ready to take a nap.  I would wait and just go to bed early, but if I do that then I will be awake early.  So I will take a nap, then get up and eat dinner, then take my last set of meds.  Will go back to bed around 2am (which is my usual).  Gonna start taking Melatonin nightly.. tonights will the the 1st night

Sounds like a great day yesterday and a greatstart today! Busy busy lady! Let me know how the melatonin works out for you. I never get good sleep anymore...not for a very long time. Maybe I need a cast iron skillet to the noggin?  LOl.

Hi all,

Food is going well. I'm probably erring on the side of not enough. Had 1/2 cup of GO LEAN with 3 ounces 1% milk and a small banana. Had in 32 ounces of water by 2PM which is good for me. I know I had a healthy lunch but can' remember what it was.  lol   Silly me.  I'll think of it later (I hope) because I need to put it in my food tracker. Sipped water during chat tonight. I was only there from 4:30 til 5:00.
The bad news is I put my knee out. Not due for a shot for 1 month. The good news is I tried on 2 of my knee braces today and they are both too big. I got the smallest one down from the top shelf of the closet, but haven't put it on yet. We did some new exercises at PT to try to not upset the knee any more than it is. Dr. Hinkle said to take Tuesday and Wednesday off and he will see me on Thursday to decide what to do with. me. Darn. I don't want to fall behind schedule. I may need to do the knee replacement sooner rather than holding off until December like I wanted. I worry that I would not be healed enough to enjoy Indiana Starting August 23rd and then Orlando, Florida in September. What to do? I'm not sure. Be patient until Thursday.
   Hugs to all,     Mag

Honey, you sound like me...if it is not one thing it is another! I feel for you. I do hope your knee bounces back for you, but if not, you may still have time for it to heal. Although you may need to take an easy pace at whatever you are participating in. Best of luck, and let us know what the doc says on Thursday.

Sounds like food and such went well for you! Great job, keep up the good work!

Checking in, but keeping it short and sweet. Eating was so-so today. Started out awesome. Ended kinda poor. Got hungry right before bed and caved in on some stupid carby snack...duh on me! No walk today, but did work alot around here, so that helps some. My guts are absolutely KILLING me! I am feeling more sure that I have an ulcer each day. It was bad for about 2 weeks, then passed for about 2 days, came back mildly for 2 days and today it is just killing me. Did make an appt with my bariatric surgeon. It is time for my wls follow up (3 year) anyhow on July 21st, and he is a general and trauma surgeon as well as a very experienced bariatric surgeon, so if there is an ulcer, he would take care of that, and has told me there will be no fix aside from surgery...period. NOT laproscopic either. Open surgery. Not how I want my summer spent (recovering from a surgery), so I may put it off until October or so, if I can stand it that long. Somehow I doubt it tho. I just cannot imagine what else it could be to affect me this way. Will keep you all posted.

Hope you all hAD A GREAT DAY

Dear Patrece,
I've been praying for you as well as others on our challenge. I worry about you and your pain. When is your appointment? You don't have to wait until July do you? As you are an LPN I know you know this , but let me remind you. Ulcers are nothing to play around with. They can easily become life-threatening. None of us want to see you go through a bad recuperation time. Please please take care of yourself. I know you have talked about life being difficult for you and I am so sorry for that. We are here for you. We want you well.  Much love and concern,   Mag
