Good day to all,
Well, it looks like it's just the 3 of us to the end of the month. Hopefully all others are doing well with their programs.

My day was much better than expected. I was full-blown manic. Talking now-stop. A hyper time. I thought my food would go down the tubes, but I didn't eat anything that wasn't part of my food plan, Also drinking so much more correct fluids. Water and sf kool-aid, etc.

I know this may sound strange but Dr. Hinkle and my PT Anthony prayed with me yesterday and I felt so much more relaxed.     I concentrated on speaking slower and quieter. Anthony would remind me if I was moving through my sets too fast. They are a blessing to me.

A little more dizzy but I'm sure it will be a minor setback. Slept better last night. Feel as if I have a brain again. Lost weight again. I forget what I weighed last week but I'm down at least 2, many 3  pounds. Will update my ticker now.    As ever,    Mag

Well, I missed checking in for a few hectic days, but I am still here and doing the challenge. Not perfect, but not horrid. Always seems to be room for improvement. My weight loss of 4 lbs since we began this challenge has been maintained, but not improved upon...YET!

I still need to get back to getting in more activity and more water and less coffee. I am also trying to quit smoking, beginning with cutting back at this time, although cold turkey is probably better. If I feel stronger soon, will go that route, just do not want to turn to food in exchange. I am still facing a challenging time in my life, as seems to be the case on and off. Seems to cycle like that. A few bigger issues at hand, and thats alot all at once, but I am working through it and I know will make it through ok. I just have to get a stronger and firmer focus going with my wls journey and needs.

I have to call my bariatric surgeons office and get an appt. I think I have developed an ulcer, which for the last 2 days has eased up, but prior to that I was in terrible pain with for about 2 weeks. I discussed my suspicions with my bariatric surgeon when he came to be guest speaker at my support group i hold. He agree's chances are I have an ulcer. Told me from the day i started smoking again that if I did not quit fast, I would get one, no if's and's or but's. Also told me there is no meds or laproscopic surgery to fix it. It will require an open incision and surgery to repair, if that is indeed what is going on. So I must remember to call Monday to schedule the appt. i am due for my 3 year follow up in July anyhow, so will combine appt's if possible.

Feel like taking another nap but have to get to the store for wrapping paper for my granddaughters birthday gifts for her party tomorrow and have to get my hubby a Fathers day gift and card. Also have to get my camper cleaned up from the one day and night camping trip I took my grandkids and daughter on Thursday through friday. Was too tired when we got back yesterday to do the cleaning. My daughter is supposed to come this evening and help me.

You all have a great WLS day! Talk to you soon
BIG HUGS to all!

I am just a little over a month out and I am already concerned with my food intake! It seems like  I can eat alot. I measure out my food and it all seems to be too much! I get 2 ozs of protein and then a tbsp of starch (usually taters) and a tbsp of soft veggie. I use smaller plates so I am thinking that is why it looks like a lot of food.  I found out that I have been getting pain from eatting only because I have been taking too big of bites. My DH said just chew it more, I tried to explain that it wasn't a matter of chewing it was a matter of too much VOLUME! lol He just didn't get it. I don't get the pain anymore now that I am taking smaller bites. I don't have a problem getting water in. I have problems with my vites making me sick to my stomach! I still take them but the after effect stinks! but other than that I think I am doing ok for being a new Post op!

What's worth the PRIZE is ALWAYS worth the FIGHT!

hey Jeanine! for 0 to 3 months out you should eat no more than about 2  oz altogether. (1/4 cup) Then from  3 to 6 months up to 4 oz (1/2 cup). from 6 to 9 months 6oz (3/4 cup) then by one year out you should be at about 1 cup total at each sitting. Then it should stay around 1 cup (8 oz) for life, maybe up to 1 1/2 cups if it is like soup or something watery.

Yes, too big of bites can be painful, as well as not chewing well can be painful. Glad you figured that out! keep up the great work. How's the weight loss going so far?

Hi Jeanine,
I'm glad Patrece can tell you how much people normally eat at what stages. I'd be no help at all. My doctor is more concerned that I get protein in and that my calories are around eight 800 cal I lose better when I keep my carbs down.
You know, my vits made me sick at first too. I called the office numerous times but they said I couldn't be sick from vitamins. Now I do just fine. I break the Calcium lozenges into four pieces and that helps. I think I get to stop the iron if my lab work is good at the end of this month.
Good to hear from you.    Mag
