Does anyone have any experience with a VBG? Oops, meant VSG

I was told that I wasn't a candidate for any of the malabsorbative procedures, such as RNY, due to my medications and not wanting to change how they are absorbed.  So I thought for awhile that my only option was the band (either Lap-Band or Realize band) and that depressed me because I was looking at the long-term results and they don't really look all that good to me.  But then I came across the VSG and now I'm thinking that it may be an option for me.  So does anyone here have any experience with it?

I had VSG on 11/22/10.  I have nothing but good things to say about it.  I've lost 100 pounds.  I feel more energy.  I have my life back.

Great to hear that you have fellow VSG to share with. I had RNY, loving the results to this point too. Ask any and all quistions. There are no off topic things. Research and dicide with your surgeon what is best for you.

I'm not positive but I don't think the VSG bypasses any of the intestines which is what causes malabsorbtion.  There is a forum here on ObesityHelp that deals just with VSG.  Of course, we love to see you post here as well.

I had RNY and take medications for bipolar disorder, anxiety attacks, depression and ADD.  I have not had any problems with those meds, although my pain medications do not seem to work as well as they did pre-op.

Good luck!
