How to Help Your Spouse Help You?

It can be a huge benefit for spouses and support people to attend support group meetings with you. They can hear and see what struggles others have and get great info on working through them and be there to back you up with these ideas when you need it.

One huge help is to get him prepared NOW to not EVER offer you food that is not acceptable for this journey. Its kinda like offering a drug addict a fix they are trying to recover from. Also it is kind for our spouses to keep their goodies out of sight for us, as to avoid temptation.

Explain to him now as well, that you may go through some emotional swings after wls for a few months. This is pretty normal as our bodies are releasing stored chemicals and hormones that are in our fat cells from the day they began accumulating. There is an article in this group blog about this. Ask him to be patient with you during this time.
