New, just saying hello!
I had RNY back in October 2010. I'm down 146 pounds and feel GREAT! I've visited this site numerous times, but never officially joined. I look forward to interacting with all of you!
I'm having difficulty with maintaining my weight, I can't seem to STOP losing weight. I am currently about 20 pounds below my surgeons "ideal" weight. I don't generally get real hungry and when I do I still can't eat much. That being said, there were two days last week that I was able to eat way more than I thought I should be able to, and I never got sick. Not sure why after eating so much I didn't get sick or naucious, that kind of makes me nervous especially since there were bread carbs involved (try to eat more carbs and fat in order to gain weight). Both times I ate a lot were at a salad bar and included cheese, dressing, croutons, bite-sized biscuits, beans, and crackers. Anyone have an idea why I wouldn't have gotten sick?
At 6 months out, how much are you/were you able to eat?
Thanks for your advice and support! Being relatively new, I'm still worried about stretching my stomach out!

Hello and welcome. Typically at 6 months out you should be eating about a half a cup per sitting. You probably need to eat 4 to 6 small meals daily to help with preventing weight loss from continuing. You are still in the fairly rapid loss stage. Man you got it off fast! I ate barely 1/2 cup at that point.
Some of our bodies stop dumping earlier, sounds like you may be one who does. If the majority of food was salad type stuff, that has more liquid content and can allow one to eat a bit more. But don't get too used to eating the bad for ya stuff, as at 2 to 3 years out, it will come back to bite ya in the behind! lol. Try to keep carb sources from whle grains, fruits and veggies

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
@Patrece: Thanks for the response! I eat really well, at the moment my team is suggesting I eat more carbs and fats as I am about 20 pounds underweight. I find that these foods go right through me and don't keep me full. I also find them sweet and greasy so they're not enjoyable at all. I do however need to gain weight as my doctor was discussing inserting a feeding tube at my appointment yesterday! I definitely DO NOT want that!!
@Meg: looking forward to getting to know you, too! Have a great weekend!

Welcome to the group Jackson. Try to add a protein to the carbs to slow the trip through your system. I wish I had wonderful ideas, just keep doing your best. I agree a feeding tube does not sound appealing. Let us know how things are going for you. Keeping you in my thoughts. Wish I could just donate a few of my extra pounds your way. I was joking with a MD friend of mine that he needs to invent the adipose transport system for the elderly that need more padding on their bony joints. I would be a donor.
