Gastric sleeve surgery
I have no other choice because like you I have tried so many things. When I was younger I would starve myself to stay small. Because of that and age my body wont't allow me to lose weight. I am supposedd to lose 25lbs. but my body won't let me lose but about 11lbs. I am diabetic. Dr. has seen I have made some progress and is letting have my surgery June 7th. I will be on a liquid diet for 14 days. That is to shrink the liver for surgery. It isn't easy but I have made changes in my diet and started a cardio program 3 days a week. I do feel a lot better. My husband was't behind me when I 1st started this because he thought this was just another gimmick. He saw how committed I became & realized just how serious I was. Told him I didn't feel good health wise or about me in general anymore. He finally new I was really serious. There is a chance you can gain some weight back but you are your best friend on this trip. Only you can know how dedicated you can be. I hope this helps you some. It's good to get feedback from others.
Now that my stomach (pouch) is smaller, I have a much easier time with portion control. The smaller mass that I carry around makes the rest of the process easier, exercise does not hurt my joints, I have the energy to do things that I want to do.
I went into the wls plan thinking I wanted a lap band, not knowing the other options available. I had support from health care providers and friends. My husband said that I lost weight so easily with the liquid diet that I didn't need to have the surgery. How wrong he was. I shared that anyone can do something as extreme as the liquid diet for the short time needed before surgery, but the liquid diet is not a lifestyle.
I encourage others to continue to use any and all tools that will assist them in maintaining and even losing weight during this time before surgery. Some even decide that they need long term support, such as weigh****chers, that you mentioned. But the trick for success for myself is the tool (pouch) that wls provided. Now I only need to work my tool, sharpen my skills on completing exercise, balancing work and play and enjoy my new lease on life.
Ask any and all questions, we are here to share our life experiences with others. Know that we are here to travel this adventure and assist you as you jump from hoop to hoop along the path. This is not easy, but can be done. Do lots of research, ask hundreds of questions, speak with your surgical team and using guidance from the surgical team to choose the best plan for your own cir****tances.
Let's be loser's together. Hugs
