What are somethings you ate?
It is an adjustment, but you wont be too disgusted when you get flavor for first time after surgery..lol
preop,. I did no liquid diets, was not required by my surgeon. So best I can tell you is what I had post op. I sipped water, warm tea- plain decaff, gatorade, life water 0 calorie- had to dilute thought everything was too strong for me, broth from homemade chicken and veg soups- was so good. also broth from ramen noodles, jello- liquidfied, sf popcicles- alot of them..lol, diluted 100% juice, etc shakes came after first week..
I did not do tomato soups and such as it was a thicker base, When I went onto puree, I tried it, but acid in soup did not sit well.
once on puree, I ate whatever came that way that I was allowed..lol.. pudding was my best friend. :)

I went to my favourite Chinese restauraunt and ordered 6 containers of their Won ton soup MINUS the wontons and I heated that up and sipped on it...just no noodles of anykind..by the liquid diet phase..I was able to eat the tiny pieces of green onions
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

surgery done in Duluth, MN
I was allowed shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, V8 juice, crystal ligh****er, broth. Surprising thing, I was satisfied, the shakes kept me pretty full. The V8 took care of cravings for something less sweet. The popsicles filled in when I wanted to chew something. Before I knew it the 3 weeks went past. Yes, 3 weeks for me due to my high bmi.
After surgery, just worked on getting in as much of the shakes as I could do.

Word of advise.... WATCH the tomato soup post-op. It is very high in sugar. Not the best post-op soup.
Chicken broth and any other soup broth. I made veggie soup, removed the veggies, then froze them to eat post-op when I could have soft foods, then smooshed em up after reheating them. No waste that wayl.
