Hi Tim,
are you journaling what your eating ? how much water are you drinking in a day? also word of advice, stay aware of the sodium ( salt) in those lean quizines.. they are bad, and salt will swell you up- hence weight gain, not to mention blood pressure problems.

Since your just starting, do not panic, I gained weight when I began.. I freaked..but it all worked out as I did not give up, this is something your really want you will win the battle.

You mentioned exercise- building muscle adds weight..so may not be a thing to worry about. Get your body measured, and every month redo the measurements it will show you results.

If the 3 meals a day are not working for you, contact your nutritionist and you may need to do 6 small meals a day. Check the calorie/fat/cabs of the 3 meals, if its over 1800 calories, you need to adjust them, fresh foods and fruits and veggies are best.

have you kept track of calories too? and carbs? those are important.

Remember this is just the begining, do not get discouraged, this is a process we all go through and this is a journey to restore your life.

Best of Luck :)

Tim, this is trial and error.  Write down the foods and amounts you are eating and bring it in to your dietician appointment.  Salt will cause water retention.  Drink extra water during the day will help.  Try having some protein with each meal.  Maybe an egg for breakfast.  Consider adding lettuce to your sandwich.  More fresh vegetables and fruits.  Practice eathing slowly, chew each bite well, put the sandwich or your fork down between bites to allow your stomach time to register that it is getting full.

Keep adding time each week as you exercise.  Just getting yourself onto a machine during the beginning phase is great.  You will motice your weight going down one of these days.  Just be patient.
