Spring is sprung, sort of???
Saw a quote in an email recently. Just needed to share with everyone.
"It has been my philosophy of life that difficulties vanish when faced boldly."
– Isaac Asimov
Not sure that my wanting spring is what Isaac was talking about, but I choose to think so. I have been watching a robin work on building a nest the last few days. This is the messiest nest building that I have seen in awhile. Nesting materials hanging down 18-24 inches from our porch light. Of course right in front of the screen door. The bird kept bringing nesting materials up to the light, and the wind would blow them down again. Enough stuff on the ground below the light for several nests. Each time we open the door, the pile gets pushed off the steps. Saturday, same story, we trim the hanging parts of her attempts to the height of the door frame. I noted when I returned from an errand that suddenly mud had appeared with the nesting materials, and on top of the light a nicely formed nest, with the straggly stuff still hanging below. Bout time the bird got the building down. Maybe had a remedial nest building 101 course from a fellow robin. I look forward to watching the eggs hatch and the bird family grow. The determined bird did pick a sheltered site, under the porch roof, no rain to wet her nest.
What are each of you doing to rebuild yourselves this spring. When the weather cooperates, I am outdoors with the dogs. They are great puddle jumpers and need plenty of dry time before they are allowed on the sofa after walks. I am focusing on continuing my healthy habits, protein, fluids, vitamins and exercise.
Happy Easter for my christian friends. Enjoy this change in the seasons and let spring happen. Hugs
