1 month out & totally frustrated. HELP!
Hi Guys
My name is Barbara. I've just recently had the provedure and am having some trouble adjusting. I was hoping that someone could tell me if what I am experiencing is along the same lines.
I had an active lifestyle and am not able to function outside the home at all.
I can not tolerate the protein (at ALL). The vitamin**** my stomach like a ton of bricks and I dont want to eat. I'm supposed to eat every hour but I only eat twice (maybe three) times a day. I've been warned that I will lose my hair (freaking out). I have little to no energy. I sit up only long enough to eat and I am spitting constantly.
Is this normal?

I could not tolerate protein shakes and my vitamins until I was almost 3 weeks out. I focused on getting my liquids in.. once I was close to getting the minimum, then I added the protein shakes in.
I had lack of energy as well. But I pushed myself to get out of bed and to keep moving. AThe sunshine and getting outdoors feels better.. the thing is getting motivated. It is very important to get the movement in so u wont get blood clots in your legs. Take a trip to the local k-mart, walmart, or grovery store. Get a cart and pu**** around.
Once I started getting out and eating more I started having lots of energy

When did you have your surgery? mine was March 24th. i was in a lot of pain the first couple weeks and then magically around the third week i felt awesome. i did short trips to get used to going out. your diet is alot different than mine. they only had me in each stage for a week. i would call your drs office if i were you to check to make sure everything going on is normal. i do still have a hard time eating -- have to force myself to eat and cant eat much so i know thats normal. im not sure why u have to eat every hour, maybe you mean rotate the food and drink that often, but i really thought your energy should be a little stronger by now. i still take 2 long naps a day though. hope this helps
Barbara, which surgery did you have? Feeling poorly is not normal. Contact your surgeon's office, there are things that can be done. Sounds like you may have an early stricture, easy outpatient fix if this is the trouble. Are you getting in your fluids? Being dehydrated will make you feel crummy. Best to consult your MD for recommendations.
I had odd pains for the first few weeks, and got horribly bound up. Fiber to the rescue and time for the internal stitches to heal and I was better. I did get tired quickly the first few weeks. Your body is going through major changes.
Let us know what your MD recommends. Hugs
