:-/  ok yall ... I am on the thicker liquids  and have been since fri ( as per my doctor ) and I can tell you - I am almost at the point to where just thinking about it makes me wants to throw up.  I am so tired of soups and puddings and popsicles - I have the rest of this week on the thicker liquids - I need some ideas on what else I can try.  Help ? :)

Every doctor is different so you may want to check with his office as to what you can add at this point.  My surgeon began allowing oatmeal or Cream of Wheat/Rice at the full liquid stage.  Just keep in mind that following the rules now will really help you to have a "good" pouch down the road.

It might sound gross to some people but I was so starved for meat that when I hit the full liquid stage I would make packaged gravy and eat it like soup just to have a different flavor in my mouth.

I promise it will get better, just hang in there.

Teresa, try any food that you are interested in, mix in a little broth or milk to thin the pureed food to the proper consistence.  Puree some cottage cheese, add in a pinch of french dressing, pureed fruit for a change.  Plain Greek yogurt with crystal light powder, sugar free jelly, sugar free jello powder, sugar free coffee syrups to punch up the flavor.

Hang in there, this stage will pass quickly.  Take it one sip at a time.  Do you like V8 or tomato juice, different than sweet tastes all the time?  Hugs

Thanks yall - hopefully tomorrow when I go for what will be my 2 week visit he will tell me I can add some foods to my diet. I have done good so far. I don't go cottage cheese at ~yuck~.

Kathy, eww on the v8 and tomato juice LOL double yuck! I am hangin on though ... was really hard tonight when my mom cooked cubed steak, gravy and rice - one of my favorite meals LOL I just couldn't bring myself to puree them together and try a bite or 2 ...so I had a protein shake :)
