I had my surgery in January and everything was going great until 2 weeks ago.  Now I seem to be wantig to eat all the time and am starting to slip into old habits.  My food choices are better but I still seem to want to keep eating.  What's even worse is that I don't get that "beached whale" feeling.  Any suggestions?????

Now is time to get your mind set that you are in a new place in life.  Continuous snacking is not good for your new pouch or you.  When I found that I could eat a little more, went through similar feelings.  Try to increase your dense protein to help your pouch stay full a little longer.  More meats and less shakes if you are using shakes.  Takes the pouch longer to process the protein from real foods, the shakes can empty quicker and you will not remain full.

The trick is to eat until satisfied, not to aim for the overfull or "beached whale" feeling.  Increase your fluids between meals, I can confuse thirst with hunger.  Contact your nutritionist for imput for your personal situation.  Is there an emotion you are attempting to feed instead of just nutrients for life?

This is the part where you have to get your "head into the game."  The surgery is only a tool.  I had eaten to that beached whale feeling every snack and meal of my life.  Kathy was dead on; you don't want to feel that way anymore.

I get most of my protein from food.  I eat several small meals a day; maybe that is something you can try.

If it is still troubling you, contact your nutritionist and see if he/she has any suggestions.

Good luck!

We both had surgery around the same time.  I have that  feeling of wanting to eat all the time when I work out hard.  What I do is eat 6 small meals a day.  I average around 700-900 calories a day and about 60-80g of protein daily.  One the days that I workout I tend to eat in the higher range on both.

What I would suggest is that you log everything that you eat for a couple of days.  Take a look and see if your eating alot of carbs.  if so then cut them out and go back to "PROTEIN first".  I would also look at how many calories you are averaging.  If it is on the lower end, you may want to increase it up a little.  I love eating the 6 small meals that I have planned out for the day.  It makes me feel like I am constantly eating.  It helps with wanting to keep eating.  I would also suggest that you go back to watching your serving sizes closely.  I can only eat 3-4 oz of proetin at a time.  I can eat about 1/2-3/4 cup at a meal.  Also make sure that you are drinking your water.  I would shoot for more than 64oz of water a day.  Sometimes you can be thirsty when you actually feel hungry.  Cut out all the JUNK or comfort foods.  Get rid of them from the house.  Make sure to make exercise a part of your weekly schedule.

I hope this helps.  Feel free to message me or befriend me if u like.
