2nd Stall?

Hello everybody,

I am 21/2 months out and I believe I have reached my 2nd stall. I am stuck at 202 lbs :(. The first stall at 2.5 weeks out lasted 2.5 weeks. Any idea how long this one will last? (its been 1.5 weeks at this weight)

Not sure if it has anything to do with the new meal plan, Finally started on the life plan. I was excited to get here, but now not so much. You have to eat more which frankly is very hard. I find that after I eat lunch. I struggle to eat dinner as I am still full. Didn't get the full portion of proteins a couple of days. And I don't know what to eat. Since surgery I have never had any problem with any food. Meaning nothing gets me sick, my stomach tolerates everything. Mind you I haven't strayed and eaten stuff I am not suppose to like cookies or white bread or anything like that. There are foods I don't like, like greek yogurt. I have started salads with chicken and boiled eggs, cucumbers, tomotoes, celery, cheese, never can finish them but stomach tolerates it.

So now I need meal plans that are different. Really tired of chicken. I have even eaten steak. (hubby had the butcher shave it thin and its all lean meat) but looking for something different. And what do I need to do to shake off this latest stall.? Still going to the gym and exericising, I talked to one of the trainers and on Sunday we are changing the routine a little as I have been doing the same routine for 6 weeks. Open to all ideas and suggestions.

Thanks everybody.

I would wait it out.  From what people say, it is not really a stall until its been a month.  Hide the scale for a week and don't weigh.  Then kinda go back to basics.  I would up your protein to 80-100g a day.  Make sure on the days that you are working out, that you fuel your body.  You may need to have more calories on those days.  I have been drinking an extra protein shake on those days.

Also remember that your body has gotten used to eating a certain way, now u changed that eating up a bit (just like  around week 3.. it happened to me when I went from liquids to pureeds.. lasted 2 weeks.. then I started loosing.)  Give your body some time to adjust.  If you are following plan, then the weight will come off.  Limit fruit to once a day. Make sure you eat your protein first..  then veggies.. then fruit if you have room.  Get your water in.  If your working out alot, you may need to be drinking more water than the 64 oz.

You are doing great.  Your tool is still working.  Have faith.  Enjoy this journey. Celebrate the small victories.  You are NOT done losing, so do not let your brain go there.  Just keep DOING!!!  Things will work themselves out.

Thanks Fran,

I didn't wait long enough I guess. I did lose 2 lbs since my lost post. Down to 200.2 lbs. I drink alot of water 64 oz. But I am up still a couple times at night to pee. It will be so nice to have a full nights sleep some time. I think I have had only 2 nights since surgery that I have been able to sleep all night w/o having to get up to go to the bathroom. But I do know that its important. I suppose since I wake up anyways I should just suck it up and drink the extra water. I just ordered more protien powder hopefully it will be here tomorrow. So I will have a couple of shakes like you said on work out days and see how that goes.

I do eat protein first, always. I have added the veggies and the fruit to the diet as well.

No if could get out of the 200's I will be a very happy camper.

Hang in there, you body is adjusting to the latest changes.  Fran gave the answer I had in mind.  Do get in protein first.  Try a variety of proteins.  Are you a fish eater?  Turkey chili?  Refried beans?

Change up your exercise every 4-6 weeks to keep your body wondering what is next.  This will pass, just ignore the scale for a few days.  Hugs

Thanks so much for posting this, I am in my second stall as well, and oddly enough I am at the same weight, 202 lbs.  However I am only 8 1/2 weeks out.  I started training with a boxing coach this week plus my regular workout, and I have stopped weighing in weekly.  I scan everything in the supermarket for things that are high in protein.  I have a highly physical job so I have been eating a lot of soup, but I had wondered if this current stall was more able stress from returning to work this week, and bein afriad that I wouldn't be able to keep up physically like I could before.  Sounds weird I know but it was just from being out of practice, everything turned out great so maybe I will be back on the losers bench soon.

I have to stay the sugestion of uping the protein to 80 or more grams scares me, I honestly struggle daily to get 60 grams in.  Nothing seems to bother my pouch either I have been doing great but my protions are still very small.  If I have soup I can eat a cup, but say I have a hard boiled egg I can't finish a whole one yet.  And that keeps me full for a long time it seems.  I am very thankful that I can eat meats well, and I know in time it will all get better.  Just dying to see the scale start with a 1!!

Hello Teresa,

As I just mentioned to Fran, I did lose 2 lbs since my last post down to 202.2. Tomorrow when I go to the gym I will be taking a muscle conditioning class. Hopefully that will shake things up a bit. I find it hard to find to eat now that  I am on the life plan diet. I am always looking for new recipes.

I go in spurts there are days when I can down a bottle of water no problem, then there are days where I have to sip slowly to get it down. Its the same with food. Some days I have no problem eating some days it's all I can do to get all the protein in.

Me too, I am waiting for that scale to be on the other side of 200.  I can't wait.  We just bought bikes for the whole family yesterday. Now if we get some nice warm days My husband and I can go out for spin and burn some calories and tone my legs.

We are both doing ok Teresa we are just anxious to see the pounds melt away. But you know for me I am ok that its a little slower than most as my skin is not hanging like I thought it would especially in my stomach.  I thought it would be hanging but its actually just toning. I love that its doing that. I do about 25 min. on the elipticle then 30 min on the treadmill plus the weight circuit.
