Today is my one-year surgurversary!  I cannot begin to describe the phenomenal year it's been.  I was one of the lucky ones who had no complications and no second thoughts.  It took me three years to decide to do it along with a great deal of reading, prayer and discussion but once I made up my mind, I was ready and haven't looked back once.

One hundred, eighteen pounds are gone from my 5'-3" frame.  I am no longer on medication for diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, GERD and no longer use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea.  I can move without feeling like a stuffed sausage and can walk without getting winded.  My ankles don't swell and I enjoy life to its fullest.

I am thankful to God first for helping me through this journey.  I had/have an awesome support group including my husband and son, co-workers and people I "shock" when they see me.  My surgeon and his group were exceptional in every way and my primary care nurse practitioner just can't believe the changes in just one short 365 day.

I am one happy woman!

The only advice I can give to others is do EVERYTHING your surgical group tells you to do, listen to your body and never forget how MISERABLE you felt when you weighed more than you do now.
