I had my preop appointment and it scared the heck out of me. but now i am fine again and i started my liquid diet. did anyone else have to give themselves injections of something to prevent blood clots for 2 weeks after surgery? i am still nervous but handling it much better and my surgeon is a doll. :) in a good sense. He made me feel so comfortable and told me i can do it and i will do well since ive lost so much weight and am exercising too. he was glad that i wanted to be able to work out as quickly as i could after surgery and isnt giving me many restrictions.
my husband is taking off work to stay up there with me. i didnt want to lose the money but i cried when i had to do all those appointments alone and anesthology was a jerk who proudly proclaimed that he decides whether or not i have surgery. oh my! i am realizing and finding out how many people love me. but we dont have internet at home. hubby will take the computer with him because they have free wifi at the hospital and i will make him make a post. i will go to the generational center where i work out and go online when i feel up to it after surgery.
I am in chaos mode now. luckily the majority of the housework is done, but there is so much to do with appointments, perscriptions to fill and hope insurance covers them all, and its about to be finals week also. I have a test today and 5 tests and a presentation to give by the 21st. very overwelming to say the least! as a friendly reminder surgery is March 24th and i will post here and there when i can.

You will get through these finals Sara and then to the job of losing.  Just do your best, stick to the pre op diet.  Too bad the anesthesiologist scared you.  I have good feelings that you will soar through this.  I am glad you have access to the internet somewhere, looking forward to reading about your progress.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as the 24th approaches.  Keep up the workouts, I am working out here in MN with you.  Hugs

Sara, you do not want hypoglycemia episodes.  I too had a couple, made a plan with MD on decreasing meds.  Do call your pcp or the surgeon's team to report your recent blood sugar readings.  Are you taking pills, insulin or both for your diabetes?  I was on both, tapering the insulin dose was the easiest route for me.  I do think that they cut my dose of diabetes pills too, it was over a year ago.  My memory of specifics isn't as good as it was closer to the time of my surgery.  I do recall, that my last insulin dose was the day before surgery.  Yayyyyyy wls.
