Bariatric Buddy
Hi All
Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Cheryl and I am a 36 yr old stay at home mom. I am having my RNY on April 1st. And I can not wait. I am not worried about the after and all I have to change...but I am worried about the surgery it self. I have never been put under. My hubby says I am being silly that I have had 3 c-sections and did fine with those but a spinal is different then going under...any advice on that?

Welcome to the group Cheryl, just sent you off a friend invite to post and here you are. Thanks for sharing with everyone.
You will do great with surgery. I recall sliding over to the OR table and then waking up in recovery. Seemed like 30 seconds had passed and the surgery was done. Get up and moving within a couple of hours of surgery for the first short walk if you are able. Then several short walks a day. Keeps things a moving through, especially the gas pains. Secondly, sip, sip, sip. Basics for getting through this process. Hugs

Hi Cheryl...thanks for the friend add
My advice is to trust the process and trust your suregon and your bariatric team. Recovery wont be "easy" but each day will get better I promise. Please come to OH (obesity help) for as much support as you need. I lived on here the 2 weeks following my surgery, everyone kept me sane lol. Good luck!
