Ok so when you think of Monday you normally think - ugh ! the weekend flew by! We had a nice weekend although it rained - yesterday was beautiful after the rain stopped and then it turned cold!! BRRRR!

I don't have anything new to report although I am SUPPOSE to know something either today OR tomorrow about my surgery! I know it won't be long so I have decided to go ahead and start the actual pre-op diet but not going to full liquids - gonna ween myself down so to speak ! So this morning I made myself a chocolate protein shake and I added a little bit of the unsweetened chocolate cocoa powder to it and it actually tastes pretty good. I was wondering though - what kind of schedule have some of you used as a pre-op diet ? What would you eat and when ?

I am getting supper excited, I can barely stand it LOL

It is so wonderful to have the love and support from so many people here online as well as at my church! We had homecoming yesterday and of course with homecoming comes boocoo's of food just lined up on table after table - and it ALL looked and smelled wonderful. I actually contained myself and my portions and I skipped the  dessert!!!!!

But anyhoot, I hope I can post later and say I got the call :) Hope yall have an awesome day!

You know, I actually don't think that anymore since I found an awesome job that I love!  I am so blessed---and thankful for the blessings I've received.

It was rainy here Saturday and yesterday was cold and damp....I need the sun back!

Sounds like you are getting close to the big day!  It is the most amazing thing I've ever done for myself and I've never regretted it for a minute.  You are wise to start with the changes now...it makes it easier later.  Also, if you aren't already, start exercising now.....I did 6 months before my surgery and it made a world of difference in my recovery.  It is also one of the primary life changes you must make to have sustained successful weight loss.

I wish you the best--and I'm here if you need anything.

Thanks Kim!! I have started to exercise - not at the gym though. I have been walking here at home ( i have a pretty decent driveway since i live on the lake we are off the road) and I have been doing the resistance bands.  I don't take to change very well so I find that if I "ween" myself then I can deal with it easier.

I am getting closer and closer with each passing day :)

Happy Monday to you too. I never did the pre-op diet so I can't answer your question, but I do remember the pre-op excitement! :) I was lucky, I didn't have to wait long, in 2 weeks I was approved then had the surgery.
Today was Lent Monday here, so I cooked all the day's favorites for my family. Fried fish, kalamari, octapus (yep, we eat those!), shrimp, 3 kinds of salads... a buffet to die for. I was cooking all morning and wondering how I'd make it through the day without overeating. Didn't have to worry. By meal time I couldn't eat a bite! Well, I had 2 bites of the fish and I was done. I couldn't eat another bite if my life was depending on it. I have to love my sleeve!!

Amalia  wow  - 2 weeks ? That was fast! I been waitin for 8 months!!! ( forever it seems like )

oh wow - what a feast that was although I don't think I would have tried the octapus though !! I had my protein shakes today, all of my water,sugar-free popsicles and I did have some baked chicken for dinner. I was amazed that the protein shakes actually kept me pretty full and not really craving anything.

Happy Tuesday to your happy monday Teresa.  Yes, it is amazing how the protein shakes keep us full and satisfied.

Congrats on containing your portions at church.  This is a great step for learning new habits.  I find that I focus more on those I am eating with and less on what I am eating.  The smaller portions are exceedingly easy when your pouch only holds and ounce or so.

Hope that you get your surgery word soon.  Hugs
