So, I am approved and have a date. My problem is do I keep this date or try to get a later date so that I have FMLA. My date is March 25th and my FMLA will kick in May 5th. So it's only about 6 more weeks. BUT when you have been waiting and wanting this for so long it seems like a lifetime!!! I just don't know what to do and my DH isn't much help because he says 'You are going to do what you are going to do' or he just says ' I don't know' it's up to you'.  I just want to scream from the rooftops and rip my hair out! I am so conflicted!!!

Hello, Jeanine. I guess it all depends on your financial situation. If it was me, I'd wait (not calmly, you understand!) Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

Let me tell you that I have gotten a bill from every person in the hospital (not really, but it seems like it). I have bills from the Hopital, the doctor that looked at me for two minutes, my surgeon, the radiologist, the dr. that did the anistisia (spelling sorry) and a different bill from the anesitsia department. Oh and a bill from an assistant doctor. So if you can wait until you get more help, I would wait. It is very frustrating to think you paid and then you get another bill for something else. Also check everything. I have been billed twice by mistake and had to call and get that fixed. So always look at every statement. Hope this helps.

Ok I guess by now you realize I had no clue what FMLA meant. I thought it was some type of insurance. I am a dork! So now that I know that you are talking about family medical leave, Take the time then in my opinion. I had to go back to work to soon and it made my recovery longer. If you can take some time and not have a problem with your job then that in turn will help your body heal. Less stress to worry about. I hope I helped a little.
