Need advise
Hello everyone..I had my surgery on this past friday and am sitting home feeling very overwhelmed. I cannot seem to get much in my body in terms of liq and I need to change my calcium to some I can take in pill form since the ones I had pre are now making me ill. They are these huge chalky chewable things that since surgery I just cannot tolarate ...any suggesstions would be very appreicated?
I am happy your on the losers bench now. Being overwhelmed or sad, angry or just full of emotions you cant controll is some of the affects of anestisia. It takes a while to get it fully out of your system. As far as liquids just keep taking smaller sips, and then smaller still. My problem after surgery was taking too big of sips, which would hurt. I had to switch to ice. It helps. Sorry I cant help you with the calcuim, but there are so many wonderful people on here who can so just wait and youll get an answer soon.
Best wishes,
Dani

Welcome to the group. Glad to have you. Welcome to the losing side of surgery. Frequent small sips. Try sugar free popsicles, they count as liquid. Got me through some tough times.
As far as calcium, there are other options. My fav chewable was by soloray. Calcium citrate chewables. I got them from the local health food store. They are citrus flavored. Yes, they are large, larger than a tums. Each of us tolerates different things. Keep trying. Bariatric advantage has different flavor chews available. Ask for samples.
