"One-derland" achieved
Well hello everyone!!!!
I am now almost 5 months post-op and have achieved One-derland.
Yup. Three days ago I stepped on the scale and it said 198. Skipped right past 199 and this morning it was 197. I was realizing that it has been more than 10 years since I weighed this amount. I know in 1998 I was doing weight training and got down to 187 from above 200 and then went back up a few years after that.
To all those who are starting out. I was told by my surgeons office to not even weigh myself .. just go by the feeling of the size of my clothing. Cuz that is what matters not whatever nasty little numbers are showing on the evil scales. :D
I am getting thrills everytime i run across someone who I haven't seen in a while and they react in shock as to what size I am now. I get this little YES!!! in my head and a big smile on my face. It is so hard to get used to the compliment. and to respond with the appropriate thank you .. but its getting easier. Just like it is easier to walk and do anything now. I have a six year old boy and he is getting easier to keep up with. My mom is just floored as to how small I am getting and it just keeps melting away ..
About a month ago I started getting the serious hair loss .. it feels so much thinner now. I was a bit worried about that but I did some research on here about hair loss and discovered that it happens to some degree for all of us at just about that time. And that at about 8 to 9 months out it will start to grow back in.. usually even thicker. I had my surgeons office write me a prescription for biotin because Medicaid here will pay for that, along with most of my vitamins. Strange, the only one they won't cover is B-12. But that one is realtively inexpensive. .
Good luck to all you Newbies out there.
Much Love to you all
Be Blessed
